Elderberry should be considered a pioneer species- 7’ growth this season (Houston). Still has plenty of time left this year.

What is your favorite plant and why? I’ll probably close Thornless BlackBerry. Easy enough to grow, comes back every year, great fruit, and can propagate new cuttings.

#grownostr #garden I’ve been thinking that getting in my garden area is a hassle. I have a makeshift netting that falls from the top. I’m using oldcastle bricks at the base. Why not just put wood in the notch and then have a door with a latch… I’m a slow learner!

Doesn’t like freezing, a lot of water turbulence or direct hot sun. I’m in Houston area, i grow in my aquaponics system and have also placed in a tote with a few inches of water.

Story- cats grabbed him, brought him inside yesterday. We got him back outside, hoping he would go home. Just found him again in the yard. We’ll try to get him bigger and then release to the wild.
Water, dog kennel, plenty of grass, little tote with cover. Anything else?
