Completely agree! What do you think about the below note (let's see if this quote thing works): nostr:note1ggz0wa6dyssdcxq3reg5l2l2jt8vavtjpp7047avnyq2acugus2s5v3txv
In my understanding, the freedom is that anyone can run a relay and join the network. However, any relay can limit the content that passes through it
Agree, but #nostr needs mechanisms on how to deal with illegal content - just saying "permissionless" is not going to fly with the majority of people once some truly awful stuff gets posted here

What are some important technologies that get unlocked by room temperature superconducting?
Agreed, both were amazing, and maybe they describe different phases of the cycle: good times -> weak men -> bad times -> strong men -> ...

"You had to live – did live, from habit that became instinct – in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every moment scrutinized."
Dude writes about this shit in 1949, receives critical acclaim, and then society walks right into it anyway. Think about this a lot, pretty sure it was unavoidable. Freedom tech provides solutions but there will be many painful repercussions of slavery tech before most realize the need.

Idea: Curators for #nostr are decentralized services, that allow users to curate their individual feeds. They can be used in selection mode or in blocking mode.
Example 1: When I subscribe to a "taco plebs" Curator in selection mode, it identifies notes that relate to that topic and feeds them to me.
Example 2: When I subscribe to a "shitcoin promotions" Curator in blocking mode, it identifies notes that relate to that topic and allows my client to avoid displaying them.
(Sorry if this is a "I've just discovered Nostr, and I'm here to fix it" kind of note 😅 - I'm happy to learn why the above is wrong/dumb/impossible/already exists)

I haven't read much about carbon capture yet. From what I gather, pulling it out of the atmosphere would be extremely challenging because of the low concentration. A more efficient approach could be to capture it at the points of emission (chimneys etc) because concentration is much higher there.
However, capture requires a lot of energy - turning the CO2 back into hydrocarbons like oil requires essentially the same amount of energy that was gained by burning the fossil fuels in the first place. It would probably be trapped in some different form, but either way it would require huge amounts of carbon-free energy
