For September, I'll write about my newly published German fantasy book about a grumpy dwarf, a magical sword and a kid growing into a hero. 🙂

Andert has basically felt like the "new kid" all his life. He's the third son of the Count of Lar Elien, but for some reason, his father and brothers despise him.

The internet is rather ephemeral compared to books.

I was hit by this considering streaming - and now the streaming services no longer even sell DVDs of their series, in order to hook people to their subscription. And once they decided to stop streaming something - it's lost.

Same with websites. The Wayback Machine helps with that, but still. So much information gone.

I remember going through card catalogs at my uni library and having to wait for books to arrive...

First day back in the seat after a long weekend off.

Formatted ebook and print for the German doorstopper (145k words!), and feeling daring, I already uploaded and published the epub. Snagged a template for the print cover after uploading the print file.

Links tomorrow (but the ebook is already live in a few stores).

I feel strange. Never really expected to publish this book, but my mastermind friend gave me a nudge. And now it is done.

I believe I've read almost all her books - and that ring shows up in a lot of them.

I also think there is one sentence that might be almost straight out of Eagle of the Ninth - a non-important one about traveling by military horse and needing the pass because Maius looks so scruffy. 🙂 Marcus and Esca do that on their return. (And of course, Marcus buys Esca, too.)
