that's a half marathon... kudos

and thus, yes you can do it because i was no athlete when i did it, and it was a nightmare when i came here to madeira and discovered how much less distance i could do because of the slopes, and compound that with all kinds of inflammation from sucralose and UHT milk after that.... omg...

there is NOTHING worse than being able to do something and then losing the ability to even manage 20%

if it ever happens to you, just remember i told you it was probably because of what you were eating

you don't know what you can do until you try

as far as it goes for walking, 35 miles a day is moderate... best leg powered transit i ever managed was one day in venezia on a bicycle, 110km... damn you muricans... what is that... 85 miles?

venezia is very flat

i also found it was possible to do this kind of thing in the netherlands but every bit of slope you add to the equation you square root your distance

i live in madeira now and the slopes are typically 10-15% grade, sometimes they are so steep you almost can't avoid slipping on a few steps

on flat land (not madeira) on average i get 35 miles a day on foot, and i discovered when i did that skipping over railway sleepers i was able to do it for 16 hours a day, for a week, my main food was lard slathered over tiny bits of scavenged bread

oh yeah, slathering my feet with lard helped too, because my shoes at the time made my feet damp

this was in serbia, and someone saw me at one point doing this and said "this is what the old people do"

i had no idea, but i'll just add this data point to your map

since you won't admit you were wrong i'm now muting you. good night.

btw, i managed to chase away that problem and ironically the UHT milk that helped me mostly make it go away, was keeping it happening

literally 3 days now no UHT milk and no cramps either now

and i should add, about 5 months since seed oils, and i've resumed some carbs now but very little, a little bread... anyway, point is it seems very clear that the UHT milk and the seed oils and excess carbs were the multiplicity of factors causing the cramps

and i'd been smoking weed for years to keep that away

years.

let's look at cholesterol itself next, and the different kinds, shall we?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol

so, if you read this text, you would understand that having this chemical absorb in the intestines directly in its correct form dramatically improves its chances of being available for the liver (via P450) to make it into testosterone

raw egg yolk is one of the best forms of precursor material for synthesising testosterone, and no coincidence that this also is found in the fat of most ruminants, where it is protected from damage much better than in an egg yolk

there are few other sources than these two, and you see, the readily absorbable forms simply don't exist in plants and the benefits of it are clear if you are concerned about raising your testosterone levels (and it is equally applicable to estrogen, as they both start with cholesterol)

it's still a wip but my relay doesn't delete events... it just returns the newest one, like you see in my issues about it - i'm currently in the midst of building a database size limitation regulation/garbage collector but maybe in a few days i'll have that done and i think that combines to make a clear candidate for what you are looking for

and no, it's not written in rust, it's written in Go, built off the base of fiatjaf's khatru and go-nostr and nostr-sdk

not only that, but the cholesterol is a delicate thing - heat denatures it and makes it unable to be synthesised into testosterone, and forces the body to synthesise this raw material itself

raw egg yolk contains, when it hasn't been heated over a certain temperature (probably in the 40s C) a cholesterol that is the exact intermediate required

ah yeah, maybe i'm higher T than i give myself credit for, at least in some parts of my system. i am pretty aggressive at certain things, like proving people wrong

idgaf if that causes me problems because you are wrong, and you are promoting wrongness and wrongness leads to suffering, and you clearly dgaf so that makes me mad

that's why developers need to stop wasting their time on a platform that fucks them

that's why i never even owned an apple, from a very long time ago, because i am a developer, not a user, their platform has been dev hostile since the end of the line of Apple 2

and that's how long i've been in this

they will become more friendly to developers when they run out of developers, because they basically don't want you to work on their platform, unless they like you for whatever arbitrary reason

it's not a protocol, it's not a system, it's a product, and a corporation, and you don't get to build stuff for them unless you are effectively an unpaid employee

fuck. that.

so, are you gonna read the rest then?

you are wrong

LIKE ALL OTHER STEROID HORMONES, TESTOSTERONE IS DERIVED FROM CHOLESTEROL

go look up what testosterone is made from, and come back to me

taking a new tack on NIP-42

https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/issues/1120

i know what is in principle required for a proxy-safe authentication protocol to enable a client to proxy through another relay to auth to a second relay that requires authentication, this is the main use case, and the purpose of it is actually, ironically, reducing traffic for the user, since this would allow them to auth to multiple relays and thus would then open the door to a request message that bounces from the proxy relay

but you can't do it without first enabling a single path proxy relaying scenario

i am trying to drum up support from clients to support proper authentication because without client authentication the promise of a self-funded network is dead in the water, how can you meter access to data without this!

by adding an ephemeral encryption key it prevents the middleman from seeing the challenge or the response which kills the MITM vector dead

i tried to get a modification done to NIP-42 that removed the requirement of a DNS - yes DNS based relay address from the response message

and of all people the guy who tried to write a relay proxy got very het up about me proposing this as though i was making the protocol insecure

actually, it doesn't make it insecure, it just does slightly weaken the man in the middle attack protection, in exchange for allowing a man in the middle (proxy) to act on your behalf

part of the problem is that the relay needs to be sending the challenge encrypted

so i'm going to pursue this avenue to get NIP-42 actually working securely enough that it gets adopted, as it's key to my strategy towards getting actual PAID RELAYS working as a general pattern and minimising the free relay use case, as is the case right now

#devstr

help is welcome, if anyone has thoughts

i've got some big tasks ahead of me and we have this cute ukrainian PM on our case but it's me and my apprentice and honestly we have like maybe 8 tasks to do in total and we really don't need her

but it is exemplary of the mentality of tech in general... throwing a thousand darts in the general direction of the dartboard is gonna get at least one bulls eye, probably, but that's a hella expensive bullseye

better to just throw one at a time and focus and your dart thrower will be hitting the bulls-eye every other time consistently

indeed, bones are about 7 years, and most organs fully regenerate in 90 days, there is many cycles

"fake it until you make it" may just actually be exactly what you are saying, alter your behaviour for 3 months and it gets baked into your organs

but it does take a month to start the baking

polar shift cycle is a biggie

so, already i understand very well and if you read The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya that clearly a big factor in the events of the "great flood" myths - which exist all across the world - but primarily north america and europe

there was, as Apocalypse describes, a 1200 year period during which it ascribes most of the cooling effect to a nuclear winter effect due to the sheer mass of massive, intense meteor impacts

well, this video will show you that you can probably add this second part to this as well, and probably the two things interact, since in most cases meteors are made out of material that is typical for planetary objects, meaning they are full of iron and cobalt and nickel, nickel, indeed, the impact craters of large meteors are the main source of nickel on this planet, and yes it is magnetic

so, in addition to the swarm of rocks orbiting us at a roughly 12000 year cycle, there is also a similar time scale of instability of the earth's magetic field, and as this video mentions, this alters the alignment of the crust of the earth due to the solar magnetic field, and i should point out that the solar magnetic field is also unstable, so precise timing of this is probably impossible, or very difficult

throw a bunch of ferromagnetic rocks, towards a planet that has flipped 90 degrees on its axis, and the axis of the poles of the earth's magnetism are going to be along the axis of orbit, as well, which means that these masses of taurid meteors full of ferromagnetic materials, are going to be at least moderately entrained towards being caught in orbit and having a close pass if not impact at the time of such a cataclysmic rotation of the planet

it doesn't invalidate whan i already know, it just makes it clear how much more severe it is going to be, and i remember several years ago already a lot of chatter about how fast the magnetic pole was moving, and not only that, but the inuits were reporting that the sun was moving relative to the land

it may well be, according to the models i've seen from this youtube channel, that part of the reason why we are being called to Madeira is because it's in one of the relative quiet spots while this event unfolds

and there is a massive conjunction occurring in 478 days, 25 june 2025, which involves the sun, moon and jupiter on one side of us

for sure, such conjunctions - the nearest, and two largest objects in the solar system, are going to disrupt the flow of force around our planet

if the rotation indeed is happening around the axis of this region on this occasion, then this is indeed a good place to be, indeed probably this will apply to the west coast of north africa too

i forgot the subject - taurid meteor cluster, which has a ~12800 year orbit

well, do like nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m says - egg yolks are good for you

they have a LOT of cholesterol for hormone synthesis, one of the richest sources, plus a shitload of other good antioxidant fats and B vitamins and loads of other things, basically everything except vitamin C

the only food better than egg yolk is raw milk

i'm a yolk maxi, i only eat whites if they have been fried until a bit brown in places
