Something I’m rather firm on is that if you have the ability to make children and you do not. You are in 99.99% if circumstances making a gigantic mistake.

Children make life worth living.

Children provide instant meaning to life.

They inspire planning and care about the future.

They increase joy.

They make life novel and exciting again.

They’re innovative, surprising and imaginative.

They reflexively shape us as we attempt to shape them into better versions of themselves/ourselves.

If you have children and they have children you will be increasingly surrounded by life as you grow old.

If you do not, you will be surrounded by death as everyone you know slowly dies.

You will never regret having kids.

You will certainly regret not having them.

If you have kids you are honoring the sacrifice and suffering your ancestors had to endure by passing the torch forward.

If you do not you are dishonoring them by wasting your life on the meaningless pursuit of your own pleasure.

These are very strongly held immutable beliefs for me.

6 months ago, on my birthday, we got the news that my wife had cancer.

I made a choice then, to believe that in spite of how things appeared, that there were deep and valuable gifts to be found in what we would walk through next.

What happened over the next 6 months was a deepening of our marriage and love for each other that is hard to express. We also experienced the tangible presence of God showing up at every significant medical event, and miraculous provision to pay for them.

My wife also had some deep realizations about how she wanted to live differently.

Both of us did.

My wife returned to work today, cancer free. Tomorrow is her birthday.

There’s a huge conversation going on in my notifications about this, so I thought I’d just make a post and let everyone weigh in.

Is spanking children effective/appropriate?

You think they’ll put all the Bitcoiners in the same gulag?

Unsolicited advice: someone asks you how your marriage is, just say “good” and refuse to elaborate. Same rule for your wife. Unless you’re being abused or something in which case feel free to speak up.

Anything else is disrespectful to the marriage / other partner.

I see people violate this rule a lot and it never ends well.

I’d argue that Shitcoins have actually delayed the DOJ’s efforts to attack #Bitcoin .

Instead of focusing their energy and resources on enforcement actions against #Bitcoin  they have been bogged down dealing with endless lower hanging shitcoin fruit.

All meanwhile #Bitcoin  continues to grow and becomes even harder to stop.

Fatherhood is one of the best things that can happen to a man.

It encourages you to be healthy.

Humbles you.

Makes you more patient and kind.

Causes you to plan ahead.

Take less risks.

Be more true to your word.

Don’t fall for the psyop.

Children, family and legacy are the meaning of life.

Just boarded an eleven hour flight to Cairo. Going to spend the whole time doing a final proof-read of Broken Money to find the straggling typos that me and my editor missed, so my formatter can fix them in the final manuscript.
