Looking forward to looking more about Taproot, SegWit, Utreexo and Miniscript!

I have a love-hate relationship with the contentious nature of the bitcoin community
One one hand it can often be totally counterproductive with bitcoiners losing sight of the fact that BTC is way more strong/resilient than any of us, we can't 'misuse' it if we try
On the other hand, arguing with people is the best way I know how to clarify my own opinions. Sometimes I need someone to call me a shitcoiner to figure out if I'm right or not
Who coined the term eatery? Such a bad name. It's like calling a school a learnery. It's not even a loanword
You refer to yourself as a pleb lol
Do you think that makes you special? What have you done for Bitcoin during that time?
I think it's an extreme, unrealistic example to bring up. There is no reason why this would be put onchain, especially on Bitcoin.
I've never heard of it happening on Ethereum or Solana for instance, which both allow for far greater quantities of arbitrary data storage, and have done so for yearsβ¦
How did you find out about Nostr?
Core isn't a singular entity that can 'say' something
It's an open source project that serves as the reference implementation
BTC is a protocol
The fact you think people are putting that on-chain is telling about what type of person you are.
The garbage cans are overflowing. V30 expands the garbage cans. Knots wants to keep the same size garbage cans because they fear increasing the garbage can size will encourage more trash
Nope to what?
This is a very good analogy
Banning litterers from the park at least partially contributes to people not littering
Same with filters partially contributing to most transactions not being "spam"
You can also make the argument that adding garbage cans encourages people bringing their trash to the park, just like filterbois say removing datacarrier limit will encourage spam
Same vibes as this classic

Just tried a Latvian pirts (wet sauna)
Incredible
I walked in feeling exhausted, irritable, and nauseous
Came out feeling energized and calm
Nobody spoke English so I basically had to learn how it all worked by observation, like how to grab the railings and sit down without burning my skin, or how to use the leaf whipping bundles
It was bloody hotβ¦
Whipping myself provided a sensation of temporary relief but ultimately made me hotter
The cold plunge pool outside the sauna was freezing too
But that's exactly what I needed to shock my system
The feeling after each cycle was intense. Blood rushing across my skin, tingles of electricity
I downed like 2 liters of borjomi mineral water too. It's salty and tastes a little like soap, but is excellent for staying hydrated
10/10

It was a great hackathon, and the fact I now have an account I can post updates on is cool
Funnily enough one of the biggest missing pieces of nostr:nprofile1qqs9svdcntmy9rjpszg5pa0xsyrqz6ugjekzpunh4ddzt0ecj2mf83qpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fj9eskuem0wghxjmc8tr66x was the ability to have sponsors contribute towards a pool which users can draw from to carry out their "zero fee" consolidations... and then post a message on Nostr announcing the "sponsored consolidation"...
I will see what I can do to integrate Angor with this!
I think your idea of targeting hackathons is great, especially high quality bitcoin focused ones like BH2025
There's a ton of potential with those milestone and investment approval features too⦠if a project is set up with thoughtful milestones and an exclusive community it could be a much more attractive investment than the likes of Geyser, Patreon or Kickstarter
Are you interested in the Latin American market, particularly Brazil? I could help you implement a localization management system if you don't already have one, and potentially find native speakers to review translations
Tried out nostr:nprofile1qqs8p3ywfd92w7zvjgy7wrpylz8t30hy3z5dc5al4070l9y8qr8rejcpzemhxue69uhkummnw3ez6un9d3shjtnpwpcz7qgawaehxw309ahx7um5wgknqv3w09skk6tgdahxuefwvdhk6tcajn769 over the weekend -- very cool project
I don't envy the job they have ahead of them
Fundraising platforms have a lot of moving parts, attract crappy users (scammers & virtue signalers), suffer from a killer chicken-and-egg problem, and are difficult to make sustainable (often need to be donation based themselves)
But they've made an excellent start, and their platform is very impressive on a technical level
I have to admit I'm a hypocrite when it comes to exchanges
My general stance is that high fees are a relatively low cost to pay if you have an exchange that is BTC-focused, good UX, minimal ads/tracking, promotes self custody, etc
But in practice if I'm buying KYC I just go for whatever has the lowest fees
Same goes for wallets
I've played around with running a Lightning node, self custodial solutions like Phoenix, but instead of shelling out for inbound liquidity or a service like Alby Hub I mostly stick to custodial WOS, or even exchange based LN wallets
So yeah, I'm part of the problem
Working out and flossing have many parallels
Do it regularly and it's easy
Life is good and it's a mere annoyance
Suddenly stop and you can coast for a while on your gains
You feel worse but not noticeably worse
But eventually you adapt and forget what doing it regularly feels like
Then restarting sucks so hard (DOMS for workouts, gum bleeds for flossing)
I've noticed this bug, wonder when it'll get patched? I keep spending sats but the dollar value doesn't go down
#bh2025 was fantastic and so was nostr:npub1dwah6u025f2yy9dgwlsndntlfy85vf0t2eze5rdg2mxg99k4mucqxz7c52 privacy edition
Had fun doing the hackathons, met a lot of cool people, and enjoyed visiting Riga
Now that it's over I've decided to take a break from X for the next 30 days
It's a great platform for learning and meeting people but the algo seems to think I enjoy getting into arguments with filterbois and big blockers
As the saying goes, "never wrestle with a pig"β¦
Plus I have plenty of work to do and new things to study, like nostr:nprofile1qqszl2vze3jrncxfg5dqpx8fkt3yyqgq9m8vmx878taspq05fshqg3spzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqguwaehxw309ahx7um5wghxy6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skc8alpaz's PayJoinDevKit.org, Spark.money, ArkadeOS.com, Second.tech, etcβ¦
Should mean I'll be posting here more often!

Just tried out receipt.cash by nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3zamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0qqsthdwa5rs42euhnuz5xsrmmssr84hshwes7uj392vpeldj7z0zw3cu38d6t live at #BH2025 hackathon presentations
It's a service for splitting bills with automatically generated Cashu + Lightning invoices
Receipt parsing made possible with nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy2hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytn00p68ytnyv4mz7qpq6g4umvwj2pduqc8kt2rv6heq2vhvtulyrsr2a20d4suldwnkl4hq62etsy
