A Government Is a Body of People, Usually Notably Ungoverned

That's what they want. It's a death cult these new commies are in.

Not sure I understand the description. It says 55watts at defaults getting 2.5th yet comes with a 30watt power supply. Is that correct?

Another point is your have to wrap ssl around the proxy like with stunnel. Then there's the internal traffic from you to the website. I think some even used transparent proxies to intercept your traffic. Like Norton did for email virus checks sitting between your mail clients and the actual server. I wouldn't trust a proxy I don't run myself for anything critical.

They don't want you to know about:

Socks5 Proxies vs VPNs:

These hushed elite secrets are more relevant now than ever.

Did you know that, LinkedIn makes more money off selling user data, then they do from paid job ads?

Or even worse, Twitter's valuation collapsed after Elon Musk's takeover, but then yet according to Fidelity, it got a rebound from Musk's training his AI startup on your data.

It should not surprise you then that both LinkedIn and Twitter, restrict many VPNs for new sign-ups. And more and more websites and services are banning Tor. How can you succeed with privacy under these conditions? In this note, I'll use Nostr's uncensored nature to teach you this critical knowledge, while it still works...

~~~
VPNs
When we think of VPNs, we usually think of protocols like WireGuard. WireGuard has public/private encryption keys, and the traffic is encrypted.
One potential issue with WireGuard is it's typically linked to a Datacenter. These datacenter IPs are then blocked by websites that often want to purposefully find out the identity of their users.
~~~

Socks5 Proxy

Socks5 Proxies simply forward the traffic to make requests from a new destination WITHOUT encryption. This typically is done only in a browser, but it could work in the command line or any app.

Many users wonder what the purpose of a Socks5 Proxy is, if there is no encryption. There are many use-cases.

Some websites may block VPNs coming from Datacenters. Socks5 Proxies are can be used to make the traffic appear to be coming from a residential home.

Speed

Since encryption slows down a VPN, a proxy is more lightweight, and thus faster than WireGuard.

Firewalls

Also WireGuard may have issues with residential firewalls, that socks5 helps avoid.

~~~
Tor Block
Another issue is some websites may block Tor. Tor exit IPs are published and known by all participants.
WireGuard + Tor = Fail
Since WireGuard uses UDP packets, it can't be used in front of Tor. Tor uses TCP only.
OpenVPN Slow
While OpenVPN, on port 443 (with TCP), in theory COULD be used in front of Tor. In reality, this is unbearably slow. Because you're doing 3 hops of Tor AND THEN a 4th encrypted hop on an external network.
To get around the speed issue, most users looking to hide Tor use, instead use Socks5 Proxies. These are fast because it has no encryption, but the ISP can't see anything because you're using Tor first.
Tor Exit Sees
The only one who the user isn't hiding from is the Tor exit. Tor exits still can't see through SSL/TLS or httpS website encryption. In other words, Tor exits can see WHAT domains you visit, but not your username, password, or what data you DO on those websites.
No Sudo
A huge advantage of Proxies is that they don't require sudo. They can just work in just the browser.
Simplified Privacy
Our Datacenter proxies exit the same servers and IP addresses as our WireGuard users. So the website won't know if you're using Tor or a VPN. I hope we make it financially through beta testing, to begin offering residential proxies as well.
Now do both me and humanity a favor, and slam the repost to aid our Nostr bros.
You still need to set up the proxy
Is that a picture of the Veteran's Affairs Christmas party?
We don't talk about it because it's only a real issue when it's cronyism. Corporate & State in bed pyshing regulations that keep competition out. Otherwise it should be one on one interactions and if a corporation becomes the main provider of a product or service it's because the costumers approve. Monopolies are government creations. Without gov coercion the panopticon could only exist if people agree to use the product. Like all the KYC regulations and communication backdoors the gov requires of corps. Those are gov/fiat created problems. People signing up to use grok ai and handing over all their details voluntarily is their problem and should not be legislated beyond breach of contract.
Replying to Avatar Plan ₿ Network
Hello, Nostr!
We are Plan ₿ Network, and we’re absolutely thrilled to finally step into the purple space! Plan ₿ Network was born when two of the most passionate Bitcoiners on Earth decided to join forces to do what they love most: educating people about #Bitcoin. Basically they can’t get enough of babbling on and on about how Bitcoin is the greatest money ever invented, sprinkled with plenty of conspiracy theories for good measure.
Naturally, the best way to ensure their message reached everyone was to create an open-source, centralized library of top-tier educational content and host a ton of classes along the way.
And who are these two passionate Bitcoiners I keep talking about? None other than the legendary and inimitable nostr:npub1r0gzy7ptcecpmjj3uv4kxychpqex3j52e8z9vyg3qy7jvcvyu2uq5tczhq and nostr:npub1au23c73cpaq2whtazjf6cdrmvam6nkd4lg928nwmgl78374kn29sq9t53j.
The legend says they sat down at a lovely café in Lugano, and together, they gave birth to this crazy institution we now call Plan ₿ Network. We’re not sure who was holding whose hand during the process, but one thing is for certain: with Rogzy’s creative genius and Giacomo’s irresistible Italian charm, the outcome was destined to be world-changing.
That’s us in a nutshell, a team of collaborators who are madly in love with Bitcoin and incredibly humbled to be part of this great orange-pilling mission.
So, what’s the coolest part about Plan ₿ Network?
It’s the simplicity: anyone can join. We welcome collaborators of all kinds. Educators, contributors, developers, translators, researchers, designers, organizers, maintainers, and, my personal favorite, dreamers. (Though I might be a bit biased because, well, I love being a dreamer.)
Check out our GitHub (https://github.com/PlanB-Network/bitcoin-educational-content) to learn more about all the crazy ways collaborators make the magic of Plan ₿ come together, who knows maybe you want to join us too?
And for this writer, who am I? Deep questions here…
Officially, I go by the title Head of Chaos, but many of you know me as nostr:npub1y67n93njx27lzmg9ua37ce7csvq4awvl6ynfqffzfssvdn7mq9vqlhq62h 💜 from the nostr:npub19mduaf5569jx9xz555jcx3v06mvktvtpu0zgk47n4lcpjsz43zzqhj6vzk and as one of the organizers of the nostr:npub1nstrcu63lzpjkz94djajuz2evrgu2psd66cwgc0gz0c0qazezx0q9urg5l conferences. Today, I’m thrilled to be writing to the best purple audience about what’s been keeping my days busy: my first FOSS passion, Bitcoin communities or how we now like to call them “nodes”.
Meet “some” of the Team
The Plan ₿ Network team is vast, diverse, full of incredible people and spread almost around every corner of the world. For instance, there’s nostr:npub1t0g7qwh5hhypwvfa94hcv6f2eqmtme844r8y5gj8fem687eg9svs3ycd3n, our unstoppable Head of International Expansion, who spends his days traveling around the globe, setting up nodes to ensure Bitcoin education can continue long after we’re all gone. Then there’s nostr:npub1ezaezjyuhnjqkj3unzhc6tqzdu5u7zgd0k4au6yrjvcftjx6gz8s9c8utn, our Chief Operations Officer also known as “The Survivor of the Chaos”, the most patient person on our team, who helps bring order to the never ending amount of entropy Rogzy, Giacomo, and I tend to create.
These are just two examples of the amazing people who make up our ever-growing team. A team that is now beyond excited to be here, learning from all you nostriches. Together, we’re exploring ways to advance freedom and help others understand the magic that happens among all the relays, notes, and other stuff that keeps this space uncensored and alive.
We’d love to hear from you! Who should we interview? What should we do to ensure we’re learning and sharing the Nostr journey and its growth? Drop your recommendations, insights, or even a friendly “hello.” Your input will help us continue our mission of sharing the process that makes this community free.
Thank you for welcoming us into the purple space. Let’s keep building, learning, and inspiring together!
Stay Classy Nostr™️
Never heard of them or you
Not a movie but the series Earth Final Conflict was very adjacent
Yep I've been testing other features (lightning address, ecash commits...) and opened 2 tickets so far. I don't worry much about zaps because failure could be the mints lightning node channels aren't well connected. That can happen with any lightning node or LSP. Today I had a zap fail from breez to an alby node address. Totally unexpected but it happens. Had to use the node I run on voltage to do the zap.
But yeah I like the app. Really want it to be useful for normies.
