One conclusion I've come to now the dust has finally settled on the graphics card wars. Nvidia are a complete rip off and yes, I know most people know this. I don't think people appreciate though just how much value for money AMD offers.
If all you care about is 1080p gaming, Nvidia are completely pointless. Raytracing is hugely overrated and I consider 1440p and 4k to be a corpo psyop. They're trying to convince you that you need to buy it when in reality you're paying sometimes triple the price for fuck all performance and the quality isn't all that impressive either.
It feels like AMD are where you go for a solid PC build, then you buy an Intel Arc graphics card as a budget option if you can't afford that.

You're likely thinking of something like an FPS/RTS hybrid, there have been attempts but those have been multiplayer. With modern engines and hardware it's certainly possible to get it done and I'd be very interested in that sort of thing too. Really the only tricky thing would be balance, I could easily see some kind of sci-fi sim being like that where you've got ship boarding and planetary combat among other things.
DEI devs only care about pumping a live service scam out as fast as possible so it's down to indies to try out stuff like that and see if it sticks, I can see the potential.

It really does seem like one of the big reasons that games suck so hard now is not just the lack of optimisation knowledge going on with DEI devs.
If it's anything slightly more complex than using a third person template they completely fall apart which is why the cock up such basic things like putting together an RTS in the first place and avoid the whole genre. I think they stay away from the more interesting genres because they're too incompetent to put a basic prototype together and only know how to do tick boxes and basic visual programming because those are the types of people they've hired.

I can see it everywhere I look now given I'm in the thick of it here in the north. They're all out buying themselves Audis and SUVs that look extremely expensive, inevitably it will all be on debt. These families are on benefits or working 9 to 5 minimum wage jobs and they're buying semi-detached houses at a minimum that have their own fancy gates and driveways which will be upward of £200,000 that they obviously can't afford.
TLDR: The shit will hit the fan harder than in the 2008 sub-prime mortgage bubble, I don't plan on being anywhere near civilisation when it happens because it will be worse than a nuke.

Stopped trying to play Apex Legends because it was just making me rage as multiplayer games do. To illustrate how bad the overall playerbase has gotten at playing video games on CS:2 you now you have multiple matches where people drop the bomb and nobody picks it up.

Multiplayer gaming is truly awful these days, I also love how other players have caught on to Marvel Rivals' problems. You've got what's known as insta-lockers and there's even apparently a mod for it, these people lock onto their 'favourite' character and it's almost always a DPS player who can't even get any kills but they insist on making people play other roles.
Absolute cancer, almost reminds me of Battlefield back in the day where you would have players who would constantly get into the jets and never get any kills.
