Democracy is a 51% attack.

The more I stack #sats, the more calm, stress-free and confident I become.

I just purchased a non-KYC eSim from https://silent.link using #Lightning #Bitcoin ⚡ Easy and fast, I highly recommend it.

Do you have any concrete evidence or documentation to back up that claim? I am using #Snort #Iris #HablaNews #Nostrudel clients, with over 30+ relays, and I don't notice any loading time difference. It's snappy. I assume clients will fetch the notes from the fastest relays first, so even if you have a lot of them (and slow ones), it won't affect anything.

Hey smart ones! Give me a reason why I should only use 6-7 relays instead of 30+? #asknostr

Give me liberty or give me death.

You know Bitcoins original use case was Darknet Markets, right?

Don't know or care about there being a "Monero Standard". All I know is it does something better than Bitcoin and is a useful tool right now.

Most FOSS privacy projects and businesses accept payment and donations in Monero (Tor, IVPN, Mullvad, SimpleLogin, AnonAddy, SimpleX, Molly, GrapheneOS, Silent Link, ShopInBit, etc)

Monero is Bisqs #1 trade volume (Bitcoins largest DEX). So there is obviously major demand for it even among Bitcoiners.

Every #Monero user keeps proving my point – #XMR is merely a tool, or as I like to call it, a pseudo L2 for #Bitcoin.

The fact that Monero has decent trade volume while very small market cap, further proves my point. No one wants to hold it, because users know it has no true value.

It's a #shitcoin with a particular utility for a very small amount of people. Unless you are on shady Darknet Markets or hiding from FBI and other 3-letter agencies, you don't need Monero (as I said in my initial post). For the majority of users, #Lightning, #Liquid, and #Mixing will be enough to maintain decent privacy.

Monero gets #1 volume on #Bisq because almost no #Bitcoiner uses it. It's a shit application, requires installation, you have to accept "User Agreements", has a built-in shit token (BSQ), has "DAO" shit, and their site is filled with Google trackers.

I don't hate Monero. It's just a tool, a good one for those who need it. My problem is with Monero Maxis, who not only hate Bitcoin, but also think 'Monero Standard' will ever be a thing.

Legit question for #Monero fanboys – Besides shady Darknet Markets, #Privacy "influencers" donation pages, and some #VPN services, who else accepts #XMR? Do you honestly think "Monero Standard" will ever be a thing?

Absolutely agree. New #Nostr users might not have this knowledge. Clients should stop worrying about new features and focus on fixing core functionality. If they only check 4 relays for performance reasons or whatever, that's a terrible implementation. I prefer if it loads slowly rather than it missing some notes.

It's a client issue. I've noticed some clients only fetch a few relays, typically the fastest ones, even if you have more than 20 configured. For instance, the #noStrudel client by default only checks the 4 fastest ones. Sometimes, your note may not be included in any of these selected relays and will result in it not being displayed in that specific case. I assume #Primal functions similarly. I tested on #Snort and your note appeared correctly, but on noStrudel didn't (unless I configured it to fetch all relay).

I leave my #GrapheneOS 'Auto reboot' option at 18 hours. To be honest, 12 hours might be viable as well, anything less than it would start being inconvenient. What about you?

All genuine #cyberpunks are on #Nostr. Those still on Twitter are scammers, shitcoiners, traders, and #Bitcoin "influencers" who only care about ETFs and fiat prices. Twitter should only be used as tool to bring more users to Nostr, nothing else.

Gold is last century shiny yellow rock. #Monero has unlimited supply cap, it doesn't matter if issuance is predictable. 1 btc = 1 btc, can't say the same for Monero.

Having a private blockchain has its cons. You get default privacy sure, but you have to give up trust in the system being bug-free and exploit-proof because you can't verify anything. An inflation bug, for instance, can go undetected in Monero, and it's possible that's already happened.

No one holds Monero because it's just temporary tool people use to transact privately. It's like paper fiat, but digital. And every cool feature any shitcoin has will eventually come to Bitcoin. It's just a matter of time before Bitcoin gets better privacy solutions (on par with Monero). Once that happens, are you still gonna stick with Monero?

Monero is similar to fiat money — nobody wants to store their life savings in it. It has an unlimited supply, just like fiat, and its blockchain is not transparent, which leads to concerns about potential inflation bugs. Those who use #XMR frequently swap in/out for #BTC (the superior form of money and store of value).

In essence, #Monero is merely a temporary tool, serving as a pseudo L2 for #Bitcoin.
