I learned that #freenet is getting an entire re-write (previous network model being renamed to hyphanet). This is incredible P2P software that rivals even nostr in terms of decentralization as every participant is a peer. Looking forward to these two protocols talking to each other at some point. People interested in #nostr and freedomtech really ought to take a look at #freenet and #hyphanet. These platforms are even more censorship resistant than nostr is. While nostr gives you agency over which custodians to trust (and the ability to trust multiple custodians (relays)), relays are still concentrated forms of power that can be coerced and shut down. That requires coercing 10% of the network instead of social media where is like three companies, but freenet requires coercing >51% of the network to censor something. Does that number sound familiar to anybody?
This already happens for tx fees automatically in the background, your client picks the cheapest route. But this doesn't happen for LSPs because switching LSPs requires an on-chain transaction. I agree that this will be a cool feature to have eventually, when people may be connected to multiple LSPs, IIRC zeus supports multiple LSPs at once.

Does Zeus support LNURL? Can you point me to a guide for getting Zeus to connect to a nostr app so I can send and receive zaps with Zeus? I already use Zeus so it would be great if I could use it for this purpose as well.
#asknostr is this still the case? From the nostr faq "At the moment, self-custodial lightning wallets don’t offer a “static” lightning address or LNURL, the email-address-style receiving address. (Hopefully this will change soon). What this means is that you can use self-custodial wallets to send zaps, but not receive them (yet)."

YK what would be a killer #nostr app? A marketplace. FB marketplace ate craigslist for lunch. Meta is basically universally reviled, yet people have to use marketplace because it's where everybody is. Make a killer marketplace app and people will flock to it. If you have electric resistance heat (all electric heat except heat pump/reverse ac) it is equally efficient to heat your house with a blender or your thermostat heat. 1 watt in = 1 watt of heat out. This means in winter you can mine Bitcoin or contribute CPU/GPU cycles to #BOINC or #foldingathome for zero out of pocket cost in electricity. Your 90W spent on your computer is just 90W less your thermostat/electric furnace/space heater has to generate. Sounds counter-intuitive but it's not controversial physics, there's even a name for it, the law of the conservation of energy.
1. Zeus gives you a lightning address which can be paid to as many times as you'd like. So yes.
2. Yes basically the same as Phoenix and with a more favourable fee structure right now too.
3. Yes and no. Fortunately you can use their always on feature, and you can also use their offline payment feature. The offline pay is a semi-trusted solution that becomes more trustless the more apps and wallets support the protocol. They do also take a larger fee for the convenience and you should open the app within 24hrs to avoid complications that lead to forced closed channels that end up costing even more in fees.

Thank you for your knowledge and insight 🙏. I am trying to setup a way for people to pay for a volleyball open gym night with lightning and it looks like Zeus is going to be the best option that doesn't involve a custodial wallet or running my own node.
Some questions about #zeus wallet. Can zeus:
1. Can Zeus generate a payment address which can be used by multiple parties to send coins to me so I don't have to make a new invoice every time?
2. It looks like in newer versions I can use a LSP and not run my own node, is this correct? If so, this is basically the same thing Phoenix does right?
3. Does my zeus wallet have to be "online" to receive payments? If so, is the app being open in the background enough or do I need the screen to actually be open? (on Android)
