I deleted instagram and facebook. In the process of deleting X/twitter but it’s being dodgy - I would expect nothing less 🥹 - so I’ll figure that one out later.

Pretty sure I lost all my Facebook photos as they wouldn’t download but I’m okay with that. I remember what matters anyway, and I’ll make new memories in place of ones I lost 🙏🏽♥️. I want to travel light into the new year. Been meaning to do that for a while, but was too lazy to recover my passwords ☺️♥️

X/twitter is alright but less distraction is good for me. I only want nostr anyway.

Internet safety for kids cannot be discussed enough. It’s changing by the minute and there are many dangers.

We talk often, as a family, about internet safety. No chatting on games, don’t send personal information to anyone, watch for scammers in your email, etc etc.

I walked by, while the younger ones were playing a battle of sorts on the computer, checking if the chat function was off. I got a bit of an eye roll and a ‘mom it’s fine, this guys name is #bitcoin’! 😂

As well, I just got a notification that one the teenage things downloaded Instagram - he got around parental controls and our filter. One of his three followers doesn’t have very many clothes on, which means… I have a situation to deal with!

Stay vigilant folks! The world is after our kids!

#JoelGoldsmith says demonstration is *not* to stop thought and those that have tried have ended up in a bad place. But #EckhartTolle seems to say different by quoting #KrishnaMurti, "our progress on the spiritual path is determined by the cessation of thought".

To reconcile the two, the matter is about tuning out thoughts like *tuning out* of a mad radio station rather than *stopping* it. The radio station is still there but our attention is elsewhere. It is by turning our attention elsewhere that 'we tune out', deprive the mental noise what it needs - attention.

The big question is *how*?: see *only* what your eyes see, hear *only* what your ears hear.

What does that mean? Thoughts are a voice in our head but if we record sound with our phone, it won't record our thoughts but ambient sound so thought isn't heard by our ears. Also daydreams won't be recorded if we set our camera to record so daydreams are not what our eyes see.

Pain, discomfort, physical limitation is a very fast way of getting out of our mental noise and back to our senses. What most people do is seek comfort in thoughts, daysdreams, to get away from the pain, but that is a mistake.

I keep mentioning these parrots on an island that remind the inhabitants to be in the present moment. It is not parrots but pain, discomfort, physical limitation that remind us to be in the Now.

Serendipity arises when, faced with a negative situation we go back to our senses: see only what our eyes see, hear only what our ears hear.

meaning at the moment of hardship, something going wrong, going *straight to senses* will open up opportunities for us but -- as you rubbed the lamp -- also disruption to our life as change is seen by the mind as disruptive.

We are all born with past pain that is experienced as negative energy. Imagine it as coal. In life we add to that pile with more new negativity, coal. Instead of shovelling that negative energy back onto itself why not throw it into the furnace of your success? It's energy, powerful, a power you alone possess by God's will.

We shovel it into the furnace of our success by *choosing* when pain, including emotional and mental pain, discomfort and physical limitation arise to see *only* what our eyes see and hear *only* what our ears hear.

Emotion only exists for 90 seconds in the body.

Bitcoin Maxis poo poo shitcoiners but they have something we don't: *they know what people want*. So it pays to clip our noses, dive in the sewer and backspat some shitcoiner types (explore-exploit).

As to devs complaining FOSS doesn't pay i don't agree. i've seen one dev complain about their app which allowed users 10 torrents going at the same time on a free version. Why didn't they just make the free version 3 max, a pro-paid 10 and allow anyone, giving detailed, secure and working instructions, to build the pro without paying if they wanted to so keep the FOSS ethos?

On #nostr why am i always context switching? Every time i context switch to upload a longer video to be hosted so i can link it here etc is a lost income for the dev.

This will likely be the last year of damus. Will try my best to make this thing sustainable, but nostr clients don’t make money and I once funding runs dry its over as I can only burn saving for so long. Glad I was able to help play a small part in this regardless of what happens. Going to give it my all next year to try to keep the dream alive. Thanks for coming along for the ride ✌️
