I see there was another shark attack, this time on Rockaway Beach in NY. I'm not a shark expert, but maybe there's something to the theory that the warming of the ocean is forcing sharks closer to the shores? Regardless, we must be careful not to demonize sharks the way we did in the 70s, after 'Jaws' was released. The ocean is their home. They belong here just as much as we do.

Well..had a nice night last night and had a few cocktails and I feel okay this morning after the first cup of coffee..bailed on "Svengoolie" last night and went back to "Sense8" and the scene between Leto and Nomi at the Diego Rivera museum reminded me why I love that show..feelings that I longed for such a long time...not sure what today is going to be..the MotoGP race is on right now and there may be some soccer later...and the Indycar and Nascar race are on this aft..good morning!

Finally at home. So are my cats. 🤗 Now I just want to be at home without any scheduled plans. It would be nice to go kayaking some day, but that's about it. I still have one week holiday left. #today #catsofmastodon

My dad and his friend have just left, unfortunately he took a tumble out of his mobility scooter about half an hour before but thank goodness he had only minor cuts. He was very brave and got back on the scooter (once we’d got him up, it took two of us) and carried on as he didn’t want to lose his nerve for next time. It’s been a great visit but we feel pretty exhausted from our action-packed schedule of showing him a good time. They’ll be back in April for my 50th birthday party

Another day of no time for exercise and a late night. Not good for me. But the guests leave tomorrow so I can have a few days back on track before the next batch arrive. It’s been lovely having my dad and his friend M here but I’ve been so busy showing him a good time that I’ve kind of neglected myself. I think I achieved my objective though, seems like he’s really enjoyed himself

.still restrictions from the surgery so I really didn't get much done today..I did get out to pull some weeds from around the mailman's path to the mailbox and then used up the rest of the weed killer that was in the sprayer to spray the crabgrass and weeds out front but that's it..funny thing, when we were talking about the UK trip, my daughter asked me about the shoes I'm taking and I said my 10 year old leather Skechers..she looked at them and said nope..bought me a new pair

Well...it's been a pretty good day today and I've been enjoying being alone for the first time in two weeks...quite relaxing...just heard from my daughter that she has gotten to the hotel in Columbus since she wasn't going to do the entire way (12 hours) in one bite...I made her pickle recipe this afternoon and had enough dill that I've grown in the garden to put in the jar so we'll see how it tastes...I am going to have cocktails for the first time in 15 days tonight...I have a new bed!

Sitting on my back deck earlier with my Merlin Bird ID app. I identified three new birds! One was a shock!

The new birds were: a brown-headed cowbird, an Indigo Bunting, and....a Great Blue Heron!!! That last one was a shock! I live in SE PA, I had no idea they were here. It popped up on the audio ID, and I looked around. I finally saw it in my neighbor's yard. I tried to get a picture, but it disappeared around the corner. Just leftovers foraged from the fridge for dinner tonight. Fine by me. The wife is on her own for that, though... 😊
