I don't think so (yet), its one main issues for new users. My suggestion would be, to try out different clients, for example primal.net has some options to see whats trending and to explore a bit. Once you find what you like and make some follows you can go back to your usual client. For the last week that I'm here, I'm just trying out different clients, they all show the same on the global feed, but each has some implementation for discovering specifik feeds. So in the beginning, don't marry a single client, try a bunch. To avoid the spam and porn, consider joining paid relays...

Don't give up, give it a week and you will feel much more at home 😅 Which client are you using? For the avatar, maybe check out nostrcheck.me, you can register a name and then also upload your avatar and cover image...

Or all of them and its just a client thing using NIP-01 type... 🫠 just tried to open a secret chat, from one side it worked, but the other 0xchat client doesnt get anything, connected to the same relay
