nostr:npub1alpha9l6f7kk08jxfdaxrpqqnd7vwcz6e6cvtattgexjhxr2vrcqk86dsn - when I post a note to a community, I consistently get the error "note failed to post" - but the note posts (posting from nostr.kiwi, validating in Amethyst)
Frick, opening a community in #Onyx is crashing the app. #Carnivore
Good afternoon, #nostr.
Slept in, spent the remainder of my morning catching up on notes from last night.
May have eaten too much cheesecake, ffs.
And I typo'd this. And didn't teally make a good gn post out of it, I generally try to share something.
So, gn (that is an "n", for "night".
I did wake up feeling antitoxic. Went about as far down that path as I will, may have upset a couple folks, but we'll all get over it, or we won't.
I did make it to the river today. Fished. Chased snags, pulled more gear out of the river than I arrived with.
This was an important trip for my wife and stepson. First time they had fished there since letting my stepson's dad's ashes go there, a place where he always fished. Lots of memories and emotions. It all went as well as is could.
See you tomorrow, #nostr peeps.
Today's Sunday eats:
5 eggs (same as yesterday)
1 pork rind (wife handed it to me)
Can of vienna sausage. Guilty pleasure.
2 hot dogs. Cold. Just the dog.
No garlic.
Maybe 8-10oz of leftover steak
Milk, water, coffee (but about 1/2 as much coffee as most days).
I did have a piece of cheesecake last night. I will probably have one tonight before bed as well.
Gm #garlic. 🌚
I rode my #garlic again today.
I am learnng how to ride my #garlic. Today my first pass was a little rough, but was able to smooth things out after that. Had a couple good runs up the hill shifting into second gear. Everything does feel a lot more stable at 20+ mph.

Made it to the river. #footstr
Yeah, so add Strike and Alby here, they aren't beta. What this site reads like right now is just throwing shade on WOS (which I don't use, and have never used)
I'm just curious if anyone's going to call out Jack Mallers for running a custodial lightning wallet.
I like Jack, and I think he's done a ton of positive things. I also think LSPs and ligjtning custodial services have their place, now and in the future. I don't thing everyone will have their own LN node. I tried it for myself, wasn't worth it to me. I will assume the risk of using a custodial provider for using lightning to send small amounts of bitcoin.
I do run a bitcoin node, and my entire value assessment is different for bitcoin and my life's savings and what I expect to be generational wealth.
What's interesting to me is that this is the introduction paragraph to just about all the different ways of eating that are being promoted.
We all agree on the basics of the problem - commercially available foods bad.
The solutions are varied and contradictory, and nobody agrees on "the science".
A doctor recommended I read a book on plant based diets (How Not To Die), when I told him I had gone to a zero-carb diet. I did. I was surprised at how much I agreed with in that book, or had seen already with different conclusions reached.
I think this has to be where self-experimentation comes in, and maybe a little common sense and learning. If your own experiment makes sense to you, based on your understanding and your own research, then try it. If it doesn't work, change something.
I think the roots of this are maybe a little earlier(by a couple decades), but I agree with where I think you are going.
We can disagree on this. I'm less interested on "onboarding" (which implies some kind of end to end process) and consider anything I am doing as just "introducing".
If I make that introduction, and someone wants to take it further, they can ask me questions or ask google, I don't care. I'm not interested in holding their hand through the early stages of their journey, unless they actively want that.
I don't orange pill people, but I will introduce them to bitcoin (the store of value), maybe talk to them about bitcoin (the network) if they have questions, and if they are curious, show them lightning (the network).
If they are curious, I also might show them an opendime. They are really pretty neat.
But this is all just an introduction. Their onboarding is their business, and if they credit me with my inttoduction being the tipping point for them to get interested, great - but I don't really care. I'm not tasked with bringing more people to bitcoin (the network), or wanting them to buy bitcoin (the token).
This isn't a larp. This just exchanging information about interests in my life, and what I do with my spare time. Funny, I used to larp in my spare time. Masquerade. The best time was a campaign we did using the Forum Shops at Caesar's in Vegas.
Yes, I will continue showing people Strike and Alby. I've shown people Blue wallet, but not sure what is happening with that. Never used WOS. Or CashApp for that matter.
Sometimes, an introduction is all it takes.

Amethyst stil requires you to enter your nsec though, right? As does primal for android...
Woke up and chose antitoxicity. Should be an interesting day. 🎇🎎🎆
Gfy telling me I can't recommend or use a custodial service.
Do I think it is the best place (or even a good idea) to store anything more than you're comfortable losing there? No, of course not. And I will tell you that at the same time I'm zapping you a few sats.
When you start down a rabbit hole, you start at the top of the funnel. This isn't Pitfall, where you just fall down to the bottom of the hole. The top of that funnel needs to be wide, and gradually open up deeper and deeper.
Even those of us who have been in the rabbit hole for a long time won't agree with a perfect solution. Telling a novice to buy a hardware wallet, then they find out a month or 3 later they should have bought a coldcard, then someone says no, coldcard isn't foss, build a seedsigner? This is a problem.
I'm not going to tell my friend or my local shop owner to go build or buy a node so they can experience Bitcoin and Lightning. I'm going to find the easiest and quickest route possible to transfer them some value in the form of sats, and show them how they can pass that value on to others. If they choose to store that value, that can be a different discussion.
So if this is my ticket off the toxic train, so be it. Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me.
