I wore my nostr:npub1sqzr42dj8vx32yd5jcvvl3ytux45kl0etgf6y2ymjvmd7lqmuwmqk9vk7v hoodie today on the street. A guy stopped and told me that he liked the message on there. He's busy working two jobs to stack sats. Had a nice little convo afterward. #Bitcoin is all around us.

I’d love to wear more Bitcoin related merch but I’m always paranoid of being targeted for wearing it, glad you found someone with similar values because of it though. Sad he has to work two jobs but ultimately he’s making the best move for himself and his family

Yes it is mental, and I have seen Windows running in K8s…with 8GB images lol.

I’ve toyed with the idea of having kubevirt running multiple windows VMs, that are running HyperV with Linux VMs inside of it runs its own Kubernetes cluster….which could also have kubevirt….

Kubernetes all the way down

In fact that’s how GKE works sorta in GCP. Behind the scenes it’s Borg running on raw hardware, which then hosts Compute Engine VMs, which if you’re running GKE those nodes are running on it

Insanity

XD well I had to do Cisco NetAcademy which is most of CCNA, so it’s a world of fun! Not played around in PacketTracer for ages!!! It didn’t properly emulate some aspects of the operating systems but was good enough in 2013, I’m sure it’s far more advanced.

Not figuratively stinky, literally stinky. They didn’t know what deodorant was, so after they were in the warm room for hours before my class started… gag inducing 🤢

PTSD from university trying to figure them out in binary. Up there with the stress of entering the room after the stinky game dev students had been in there for 2 hours beforehand, or not being able to study on our Cisco equipment as some asshole kept stealing the compact flash cards

Yeah defo not heard this before now I’ve played it nostr:npub1tcekjparmkju6k83r5tzmzjvjwy0nnajlrwyk35us9g7x7wx80ys9hjmky , gives vibes of someone else I listened to when I was..14 or something 😂

I have one of these based on nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp s post, running OPNsense. It works great, e.g. I can watch HD Youtube anywhere in the world with Wireguard going home first. It helps to have gigabit fiber of course.

Problem is that it doesn't cap the log size by default, so those quietly grew to 99 GB.

That one looks pretty neat, will consider it when I replace my aging (but still more than competent) PCEngines APU

https://www.pcengines.ch/index.htm

Do love them but they’re not being made anymore as SoC is EOL sadly

Guy looks like Phil Schofield and Sadiq Khan had a baby

Nah Linux isn’t a requirement, you just use the yubico Authenticator app to interact with them. That runs on pretty much everything, including Linux

I set it up with my laptop first, making sure I set a pin on the yubikey so other people can’t physically mess with it. But I use it mostly with my phone, or plug directly into laptop when I need to

https://www.yubico.com/products/yubico-authenticator/

Yep, I have one and the other model with lightning/usb-c as a backup

No issues with it, I only use it to auth with Bitwarden, my main email accounts and exchanges

Everything else I leave to Bitwarden’s TOTP

Just make sure you get at least two yubikeys, so you don’t lock yourself out. And keep one at a separate geographical location just in case of fire etc

I picked up one of these from nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll yesterday. My Raspberry Pi has been a champ for 5 years but it's time to scale up.

I encourage everyone to #RunYourOwnNode. It's more important now than it ever has been.

I’ve done the same thing with a mini pc with similar specs. Used to run Umbrel but just having SSL by default was what pushed me over to start9

Been travelling about 8 hours over the last two days, staying over in London to visit a client’s office. Hate London and just thinking of travelling through it stresses me out, let alone being there. Get home late last night and enjoying getting to bed

Then for last hour from 2am there’s been a horrendous thunderstorm that’s woke me up, with hundreds of bright but silent lightning flashes. No matter which way I turn I can’t avoid them, so have given up. Just scrolling through nostr till it stops lol

Nice man, let us know how it goes :) What games do you have in mind to play together? I need to do the same at my partner’s house, gonna get some nice Unifi APs and controller in there as the upstairs “office” never gets used due to shite reception. Shitty ISP issued router/AP needs to go in the bin, or at least turned into bridge mode….just haven’t got round to it yet >.>;

It’s weird actually, talking recently of #FreeBSD to someone else.

It was very much like being in the Bitcoin space, very focused community of competent people who just wanted a well curated UNIX system. No drama, no noise

Then around 8 years ago, we had core team members who started injecting identity-based and “progressive” politics, poisoning the well with the new “code of conduct”

https://www.freebsd.org/internal/code-of-conduct/

This distracted from the core values people had, and caused the community cohesion to fall apart. And I stopped using FreeBSD exclusively after multiple years

It shouldn’t happen to #Bitcoin, as it’s a much larger ethos. But there will be ideologically possessed interlopers the more people we orange pill
