For sure, and that’s one of the key downsides to a relay (and not gossip-based) network - things can look *very* different depending on what relays you’re connected to!
Then you're a more patient man then I 😂
Google Keyboard (I know!) with networking disabled is the only usable keyboard on GrapheneOS FWIW.
Highly recommend just making the switch so you don't want to die each time you have to type on mobile.
Will have to dig in and test that, thanks! Would be much cleaner :)
Caddy could serve the single nostr.json file itself as well?
Updated with a note on that! Thanks for the call-out, didn't actually realize that was possible!
Can you update the guide so that instead of the NIP-05 verification being in the format of name@domain.com, it's just domain.com?
Orange Surf did it in his guide here: https://orange.surf/nip05-with-ghost/
I personally don't prefer that approach, but will add a note that it can be done to the readme :)
It's set in one of the labels for the nip05 container, and handled by Traefik.
It's exactly what I run :)
If you haven't yet done NIP-05 identity verification, no need to jump on solutions that do it for you.
I've put together the simplest possible self-hosted NIP-05 verification setup I can think of. Just get the cheapest VPS you can, clone the repo, edit 2 files slightly, and run one command and you'll have an always-on, always up-to-date, properly certified NIP-05 identity endpoint:

Detailed steps are all in the readme at the above repo.
Feedback welcome!
If you're outsourcing your NIP-05 identity to a third party service, you're entirely trusting them with validation and expose yourself to someone impersonating you.
This setup makes it dead simple and a one-time setup, it will maintain itself after that.
If you create new accounts just add on to nostr.json and profit!

Not sexy, but clearer error UI/UX that makes it more apparent what to do next, especially in the case of "unexpected end of stream".
P2pool doesn't "censor" any miners, and is more censorship resistant than normal pool mining.
Still not really sure what you mean, p2pool is entirely optional.
No devs are forcing anything?
Amethyst's latest version is live in the PlayStore
Go tell grandma she has custom zaps now.

So thankful for Amethyst, huge improvements in the last few releases!

There are multiple other fair-issuance PoW cryptocurrencies, a la Monero, that meet this criteria then.
So he actually means "pre-mined tokens", and all fair-issuance PoW cryptocurrencies are not stealing or issuing money?
I'm not sure your point, devs have no control over blocks being empty or not.
No kidding, I think that’s one of the best things about Nostr is I feel like a n00b with a whole world of exploration, learning, and experimentation to do!
So, uh, doesn’t that make Satoshi creating Bitcoin stealing?
Logic doesn’t seem to pan out here.
This seems like a massive improvement in security, keeping a close eye on this!

Nothing is a foregone conclusion, very dangerous to assume that Bitcoin will "win" or "overwhelm everything else" IMO!
Lots of work still to be done both technically and from an education perspective.
This is something I haven't talked about publicly yet, but some of the key reasons why I've shifted focus back to Bitcoin over Monero (but haven't abandoned Monero or changed my stance on it as a powerful tool for freedom!) in the last ~1y below:
#[0]
Main points are:
1) Most people will come into cryptocurrency through Bitcoin
2) Bitcoin has "good enough" privacy in some cases, and can be drastically improved still
3) Bitcoin's network effect mean that my work on Bitcoin can have an outsized impact compared to Monero
4) Monero doesn't need what I can do as much anymore, lots of other's have taken up the mantle
5) If no one sticks around in Bitcoin to push for non-custodial/private usage, that will die and Bitcoin will be a Panopticonic nightmare for the world, so I can keep doing my part to push against the tide of "adoption", KYC, and custodial wallets etc.
6) Lightning shows a lot of promise of non-custodial usage + privacy improves, all of which is possible and most needed solutions have already been proposed
Still a huge fan and user of Monero, but have always kept up with Bitcoin and seen it's value.
Had something of a renaissance in my view of Bitcoin that made me realize it was worth my focus, and Foundation is an incredible place to be able to focus full-time on the things I love - accessible Bitcoin usage, privacy, and self-sovereignty for everyone.

Bitcoiners winning together via donations + FOSS is amazing to watch, thanks for pitching in.
