THE CRYING EILL CONTINUE UNTIL NON-CUSTODIAL LIGHTNING IMPROVES πŸ˜…

Who's speaking on this?? Would love to follow and watch later!

For sure, I've been a part of the Monero community from long before all that and was closely involved in making sure that there were no potential angles for harming the Monero project while he was in custody.

When something is properly decentralized (as Monero is) these scenarios aren't really even scary πŸ˜‰

Yeah, my hypothesis is it was all fabricated to scare the Monero community and in hopes he had more control than he did over the project.

None of it makes sense otherwise, but the INTERPOL conjecture seems entirely baseless.

Just seems to be FUD with no basis for it, and even if it's true he had no access to Monero in any way at that time. There is no backdoor, everything is FOSS, and he wasn't even a maintainer at that point (he stepped down from all duties in 2019).

This source tweeter used GPT4 to confirm his "analysis" and revealed no new information, just seems like another normal hit job on Monero...

For sure, but prefer it actually support CLN so I can use what I pay for πŸ˜…

Will be easy, obviously isn't there yet.

Why are people rushing to use half-assed custodial solutions instead of just waiting for better tools? Wtf happened to "low time preference?"

Seems like utter garbage from someone with a track record of lying/overstating things for their own profit.

He used GPT4 to come to his conclusions for crying out loud lol

Don't have one and won't host one, I don't custody other people's money.

If we can't do zaps non-custodially let's just drop back to tips until things are actually ready.

Lmao, how many of the people using WoS and on Nostr are in a 3rd world country?

Of course I'm not talking to them, but even they need better solutions than WoS etc.

Fedimints connected to LN are far superior there.

In standard Ln, yes.

With default zaps you reveal your Nostr pubkey and comment in the invoice itself and the recipient publishes that to the Nostr network.

It's a huge step backwards for privacy and harms all other Lightning user's anonymity set as well.

Zaps can carry plenty of "signal" by just revealing amounts as a skin-in-the-game analog to likes.

I have done both, I've been loving Zaps and cheering them on while also fighting for privacy at the same time.

I can both love a feature and want to see it built with privacy and self-sovereignty in mind from day one.

The longer we wait to think deeply about how we do this in a privacy-preserving way, the less people will do so and the less likely that it is done in a privacy-preserving way at all. We *have* to build from the ground up with privacy in mind.
