My biggest reason for keeping them is to stay in touch with family and out of state friends. It's easier to see their silly picture than spend an hour on the phone.
It's nothing to write home about. It lasts a regular work day. But if you're working out and stuff expect a charge in between. At this point I would wait for the second gen. (I got the watch for free as a #giftfromgoogle)
I do. It's not better than the Apple Watch. But it has a good design and works well with my Pixel. Almost feels like the Beta experience for the next one.
NFTs are the biggest scam.
Im convinced the Ghostwriter song "Heart on my sleeve" really is Drake and The Weekend and they're claiming it's AI for the hype. It's working either way.
Hell threads crashing the recent Damus update.
I miss home. (SWFL)
Im willing to bet that more than half is spam. Are you guys implementing something to auto purge spam? Most of it is the exact same post over and over.
Not sure. They claim the messages are e2ee.
Messages are e2ee. There's no way to turn it off that I can see. The backups are held by Apple or Google. Maybe they're just using the meta data associated with your device and the things you search for on other apps.
Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 how Whatsapp makes money? Free. No ads. Encrypted backups. Most popular messenger in the world.
I suggested earlier that they should have convenience features as part of a subscription model. I.e. Push notifications. Media uploading. Things that don't break the app but make life easier.
Getting a lot of "Shrek is love, Shrek is life" vibes from some of these Bitcoin posts. π
A lot of people won't pay. And the ones that do will gravitate towards one or two big relays (centralizing). What about the devs? These apps are free and I'm sure these guys are either sponsored by someone wealthy or living off donations (not a comfortable feeling).
Luckily relays only have to worry about pushing text. The guys hosting the media are the real MVPs.
There's gotta be a way to monetize this and preserve the atmosphere.
Been saying that for a while. The larger the network the more expensive to run the relays. Especially with the spam.
I think it's the volatility and the time it takes to confirm transactions. Imagine taking $100k in and something like FTX wipes out 50% of your value and you gotta sit on the coins for a year just to cash out.
I thought you've always needed a phone number. Even if it's a burner VoIP #.
