SPECULATION: The US might be putitng out disinformation about today's clash with the Houthis. Or they might not. I don't know the truth. But the Yemeni story and the US story are quite different.

Here is how the US story could be technically true but disinformation, and the Yemeni story also true. The Houthis claim they directly struck a US warship.

There were two US warships and two commercial vessels. The commercial vessels turned back.

Here is what CENTCOM claims (I interject my commentary):

CENTCOM: "Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles"

ME: True, but maybe they also fired another missile you are not talking about.

CENTCOM: "...from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen toward the US-flagged, owned, and operated container ship M/V Maersk Detroit, transiting the Gulf of Aden. One missile impacted in the sea. The two other missiles were successfully engaged and shot down by the USS Gravely."

ME: Fine, what about the fourth missile?

CENTCOM: There were no reported injuries or damage to the ship"

ME: Ok so you are saying one of your ships, the USS Gravely was not struck. What about the other ship?
