82 years ago today, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, officialling dragging US into WWII.
I've only seen 2 references in the news about it today.
I'm not that old and I grew up in the long shadow of WWII called the cold war.
Millenials are as far removed from WWII as I am from WWI yet I have the feeling that are as "connected" to WWII as I am to the Napoleonic Wars.

what passage of time is it okay to move on? should we perennially observe this event forever? Or is 82 years enough?
It's called "Freedom". Let it ring!
that's on you for giving them your personal data in the first place.
well, the government steals from us. so, it is only right we steal from them.
i dont think the OP was saying it was a 'bad standard'. their concern was being able to 'trust' the software. since grapheneos is open source anyone can view the source code to see if anything nefarious is happening or where security issues may arise.
Also, the main developer Daniel Micay was a bit unhinged so for some people there is a 'trust' issue to get over.
no, haven't tried that one. and it was a bear getting my family/friends on Session. but i've used Signal, then switched to Threema, and now Session.
but i would recommend anyone to use any other third-party communication app that supports E2EE rather than iPhone/Google's app.
RCS support is coming to iPhone next year, it will enable porper iMessage & Android message integration.
First USB-C & now RCS, In the last 3 years, the EU has pushed more innovation into Apple than Apple's own engineering team.

sorry. i already switched to Session for private/secure messaging with true E2EE.
what if they tell you they dont collect data but do it anyway?
upon further review...i dont think this is a US mortgage statement. We dont put dates in this format: DD/MM/YYYY like in some foreign jurisdictions.
better beg 'Creepy Joe' for another moratorium!
ffs, why would anyone enter a variable rate mortgage when rates were at historical lows? ๐ซฃ
death is always a guarantee
i dont think grapheneos is a bad standard...but it is the only open-source, privacy and security focused os i'm aware of. unless you want to tear your hair out trying to use the PinePhone.
what alternative is there? i trust google and apple even less.
