I live in THE poorest county of Delaware, and I do this so the children of single parent seasonal job homes have food for the winter. I know what hunger feels like. To be scared and to hide scraps for later at school, bc you know there is no food for the weekend once you get home. I mail booklets of coupons to the schools, the bus drivers bring coupon kids to my farm on fridays n I give them pick boxes to choose veggies n fruit and a whole roaster chicken for the weekend. I despise politicos who encourage starvation. Babushka bakes bread and sweets to send with the kids. By having the kids come on fridays, they feel strong and safe bc they are feeding their family with what they chose. I supply all the districts in my county with food during the school year. In the summer I host kids camps to teach them nutrition and how to grow veggies at home. Kids in my county want for nothing, all they have to do is tell me they have a need. Bc a full belly and knowledge of meals ahead, means kids can learn. They can concentrate on school. I don't do it for kudos. I do it bc that's what you do in a community. Ppl need food. I grow food. Equation is simple.

Electric heating is already very sustainable in Norway, as most of our electricity comes from hydroelectric plants. We have plenty of that here, no gas never made much sense, except in cabins who are not connected to the grid.
My in-laws have kitted out their house with both ground heat and solar panels on the roof. It's not gonna take many years to make up the cost. Great stuff
