Not quite. Canillon effects are strongest at the point where money enters the economy. In our system, new money enters through the banking sector. If there were no taxes and all government spending was freshly created money, then you'd be right. Welfare spending still has Cantillon effects, but they aren't as strong, because they're a few steps down the chain of events.
Since anyone can build a new client with different properties, it'll be users who drive nostr policy. It's going to be a survival of the fit progression: evolution via user selection.
The scientists in the fields you listed are literally paid to reach the same conclusions as each other, not to act as checks on one another.
That said, most people expressing contrarian views online would get completely wrecked if they tried to debate one of those scientists. Just because the fields are corrupted doesn't mean the people working in them don't know a ton and have responses to internet meme-level arguments.
