the power principle of nostr, is a relatively simple and open protocol which is not owned.

there are others. older protocols. they still work, and they are still free.

they are worth understanding.

i see people talking about how governments and corporations destroyed the internet.

this is only partially true. the primary responsibility lies with the people. they choose facebook. they choose apple. they choose walmart. they vote with every purchase, and every visit.

if the people werent lazy and full of excuses, the web would look very different.

many things would look different.

but no bother.

ive learned Paretos Principle. And my interests now lie with the 20%.

somebody introduced me to bitcoin a long time ago.

they just said, "you um... you should check this out."

ive been a bitcoin luddite since. some call themselves maxis, but they are the ones who want to sound cool.

nothing captured my attention the same way, and ive been uninterested in 'new technology' since.

but layer two has my attention now. i feel the same revolutionary vibes.

Debian maxi

If Debian ever fully achieves the secure, minimal, stability it set out to achieve in the beginning, it will change its name to OpenBSD. https://video.nostr.build/9435f3429e743a8dee896799aabf3826904764124898618cb7226b46076e8a51.mp4

It can feel overwhelming.

To start with something that works, to increase your confidence and enjoyment, consider Linux Mint or Ubuntu.

But keep in mind that both are based on Debian. And if you are the kind of person who likes to do it the hard way at first to learn more quickly, go straight Debian.

you could sell “unruggable rugs”.

Oh my gosh. Persian unruggable rugs are one of the coolest things I’ve heard in a minute.
