Life long learner living off the grid in the PNW. Growing food, living simple. Pursuing extreme sovereignty and finding peace in the less conventional way. Unix, plan9, free software, and minimalism enthusiast. Seeking first the Kingdom, and the King

What would be cool would be a pipeable Unix tool which could be used with different viewers and editors.

In 2008, the Bank of Korea found 5587 business which had been in operation more than 200 years. Of those businesses, 56% of them were in Japan. The next highest was Germany, at 15%.

87% of business older than 200 years never employed more than 300 people.

Kongo Gumi is a construction corporation founded in Osaka, Japan in 578AD, and has been in continual operation since then.

Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is a hot springs hotel in Japan which has operated since 705 AD

The list is much longer.

Something not early 90s Microsoft superbloat.

Something for simple hackers who rarely say “use case” or “ user base” or “onboarding” or really any of the Silicon Valley bro infloooencer douche-speak words.

Something a Plan9 user, or someone who knows what SDF is might enjoy playing with.

Oh that’s coming. There really is no question in my mind. I also know the people calling for it are going to run and hide like babies when it actually happens, because they are a generation of the biggest mouths and softest hands.

seems to me there is a place for a simple, non browser nostr client which uses about 10 kinds, and is relatively easy to understand and hack on.

Assume that all bureaucracy must be torn down and reset every 100 years or so at least.

Possibly 50.

Empire, and the wars it creates for money and power has killed off the majority of Ukrainian men.

My Achilles heel for exiting the system is paper towels.

A sense of a prophetic message about the death of empire

The only thing coming out of Hollywood (other than people leaving) that has captured my attention in a very long time.

Of course if you’d like to create a collaborative software project, as many do like to, you can summarily ignore control freak absolutism like this and do what you want. Because honestly who cares what they think 🙂
