Private names: you can change everybody's name to something only you know. You will need to remember the name you like to use. (Like using "Mom" instead of your mom's first name)

Minidenticons: an additional icon that is assembled from the user's pubkey. A different pubkey will be a different icon. You will need to remember the icon associated with each key.

The minidenticons are an interesting idea, but in practice I've not seen them used where I actually remember what someone's image is, so they just clutter up the profile. Perhaps this time will be different?

I've suggested a Bitcoin wallet as a wedding present, held as a multisig with a notary they both trust, with the prenup describing when and how much will be added on certain occasions (upon engagement, after the honeymoon/consummation, on birth of child, on anniversaries, etc.) You could do something similar with a gold vault or ETFs. Or some combination of those.

Arrange payment in advance of divorce or death, and arrange it in a form that is highly portable and liquid, and that doesn't require his assistance.

If you choose to upload to a server that does no media optimization, isn't that killing user mobile data?

The optimization has to happen before signing, so a separate process would need to run that before blossom is even involved. That or the client uses some sort of trusted proxy that can perform these actions in the middle.

furthermore, this is one of these cases where nostr can do something platforms CAN'T. It might feel a bit counterintuitive to allow data to flow unconstrained from the use cases.

But aren't we building stuff that goes beyond the previous capabilities of the internet?

For example, today I found out that a couple of days ago I was participating in a git issue from my kind:1 client. I didn't realize this was happening within a github-like context, but all the needed context was there for me to participate and (hopefully) add something of value to the conversation.

It just magically worked and a "github" issue that would have had maybe one or two comments ended up with a fruitful discussion that added a bunch of color and nuance.

I keep coming back to some type of kind1 inheritance. Either new kinds extend kind1 so clients can fall back to only showing what they know what to deal with. Or some sort of trait that would allow multikind notes where it is kind1 and enhanced by kindN where clients that know to do special things with the new kind.

Is there a nostr app that allows for discord-style voice/video/screenshare? I'm thinking nostrnests with optional video and ability to share a presentation or demo. Might be able to cobble together nostrnests and zap.stream to get most of the way there if I'm asking too much of one platform.

Yeah, something like that. I don't need a version for every third character, but if I finish a section or add a meaningful amount it would be useful if some relays maintained that history.

I want a relay for some of the OtherStuff documents like wiki pages that keeps n number of replaceable events, maintaining a working history, and then deletes the rest.

Maybe 10-20 events back, or something. Much more and it becomes an archiving service. Much less and I can't show any change history.

I noticed some clients are more aggressive with sending replaceable events. Sending every small pause is input, so it would be important to discard events based on size of diff or something and not remove real history for incremental edits. Just from a desired outcome perspective.

I think a NIP for general matching would be super useful. One side posts what they have and the other posts what they want. Then DVM or something would filter coincident wants and if both sides agree the exchange could be made. Could be used for market, freelance, dating, etc. I'm thinking like tinder but for everything.
