Beautiful, fertile females "have" much power, in most societies, even in societies where they technically "wield" none.

I think it is dishonest to downplay this effect, but also pointless to bemoan it or to try to suppress it with oppressive legislation.

Reproduction is a very valuable tool

It's also purely aesthetic. We prefer beautiful things.

The true, the good, and the beautiful. Of these the beautiful is the most obvious but the hardest to attain.

They're all aspects of God, really. Glimpses of the divine, in our daily lives, so that we are inspired to slog on in our Pilgrim's Progress.

Indeed, also I noticed we see symmetry as an important factor for something to be beautiful.

You say this as I post a buttery fly. Well done

To illustrate:

I think the modern Western "pretend that nobody notices or cares that beautiful women are beautiful" concept is as ridiculous as the Eastern "put a bag over her head and hide her in the house, so that she doesn't take over the world" concept.

The classical idea of modesty allowed for beautiful women wandering around relatively freely in public, without causing too much of a ruckus.

It was fair enough to work, but both extremes hate it.

Western societies somehow understood that beauty is an uncommon thing and is extremely elitarist, a property of very few. And instead of cheering beauty, the tendency has moved to a systematical redefinition of what beauty is based on the "inclusion philosophy".

I would have to agree with this.

Another example was the whole "Girls are Scammers" controversy this week on Nostr.

Here is how you react to a female-presenting new npub

1) stay calm and treat her like you would treat anyone else, but maybe with slightly less rough-n-tumble play

2) mute her without comment

3) scroll past without comment

Imagine theres a table in a fancy restaurant and at the table sit Elon musk, Brad pitt, Tom Brady and Christiano Ronaldo. The waitress comes over to take their order and she’s gorgeous, a perfect 10.

Who is the most interesting person at the table?

The waitress.

Exactly

Agreed.

When feminism erased the differences between men and women, especially in their societal roles, we forfeited the selective power of desirable women, which makes becoming a desirable man less rewarding and less feasible. We need a factory reset on western culture.

It's coming

I think the onus is on beautiful women to revive chastity and modesty.

Other women don't have the "clout" to get away with it, as easily, and as long as men think they can get Miss Lovely for a lark, marriage will continue to decline.

Responsibility is mixed. Those with power are responsible to use it properly, but parents are responsible to educate their children in such a way that those children grow to be responsible when they receive power.

I think the issue is it unwanted or "unearned" power, so the ability or willingness to use it properly varies. It is also a decaying power, so there is a but of a "use it or lose it" nature to it. I agree suppression is pointless, but perhaps there are better ways to channel it as a society?

It's a talent, so it's something given to someone, and not earned, but it can be cultivated or wasted.

Female beauty, like male strength, peaks around peak fertility, so they're clearly meant to facilitate childbearing, through marriage.

But even waning female beauty has an uplifting and inspiring effect on everyone who beholds it, and that should be used for good. Female grace and elegance is also a talent and you can have that for a long time.
