Lavender and cedar ended up sneaking so nice together.

Aphids! Lots of people use Sevin Dust as an insecticide which chemically disrupts the nervous system of pests and kills them til they're dead.

Alternatively you can dust plants with diatomaceous earth which physically damages the pests teeny exoskeletons.

Just be sure to dust in the evening after the bees have gone to bed!

I was today years old when I learned that ants will farm aphids! The ants protect the aphids and in turn the aphids provide "nectar" to the ants by eating the host plant.

Some ants will even carry aphids' eggs to the desired spot!

This is making me want to find a patch for milkweed! My parents have a patch for the monarchs. Do you happen to know if they can be propagated?

Blight how I loathe you. I think I wasn't ruthless enough with trimming away infections and ripping out infected plants. So the blight spread. I think next year I'll try out the baking soda solution from Roots and Refuge as an antifungal early on.
