It's still all just theater.
Most do. And no one will ever sway them.

If you have food, love ones aren't malnourished, and keep a roof over your head; it may not be great, but it is successful.

Hard-line all the things
Most 8 hour shifts at minimum wage across much of the US.
With a compliant public? A lot.
Desert tortoise get stolen all the time where I am. That's impressive.
Especially anywhere outside of 75 miles of all three coasts.
Primarily due to competitive air travel, it's a tough sell.
Logistically, the necessary rail is in place, but since the post-ww2 era, air and the autonomy of the automobile have resigned culturally.
The culture is where the lasting change would need to be.
Marxism by any means necessary.
"Green", "sustainability", "Stakeholder", etc.
All are just vehicles.
