Absolute nobody; Procurer of obscurities. Homesteader. Professional papa. I like doing cool stuff. “Very useful engine.”

It makes such pretty things and it’ll last longer than I’ll be alive

Do you even Osage, bro?

Oh the hunt for the wilderpeople? I haven’t seen it but I know its got that funny kid and the Jurassic Park guy

I don’t think I’m familiar with that one. Is it a show?

I didn’t choose the ragamuffin farm life, the ragamuffin farm life chose me.

You found one of the things I’ve read about! That’s very cool!

It’s a gall caused by a gall wasp. If you remove the fluff and gently cut open the “shell” you’ll see a small wasp grub.

I know the pain. Definitely don't let them loose in the yard and try to shoot them though. thats a bad time likely to happen.

There are tried and true methods of dispatching your rabbits, and nothing wrong with using a 22 in my opinion either. point blank is very reliable, but i wont ever shoot one i raised if its loose.

the wild off chance i miss or it moves from my point of aim is just not worth the stress on the animal or myself feeling bad about an injured animal i care for.

rabbits are by far the hardest for me to harvest, however i will say they are so much easier to process than chickens and its much cleaner of a process.. but maybe thats just me being bad at processing chickens lolol

That’s a cottontail. Not as tasty as a domestic rabbit but still good.

Domestic rabbits are all around better in the context of homesteading and sustainability.

I am biased though, I’ve spent about a decade learning things with my backyard rabbits.

In all honesty, I can really only recommend a cone pit as thats all I've done on any realistic scale.

however, Ive heard great things about cut steel drums and retorts.

I wish i could say one way or the other as far as recommendations but honestly I can't justify trying to build or buy anything when I can just make it work with a shovel (and i happen to want ponds on the property).

I'm sure there are better ways to make biochar but honestly unless you hit a buried cable or irrigation line- its just a low cost, low risk way to get started fast on making some of that black gold.

I use a cone pit I dug in the back yard. Eventually it’ll be a pond.

That reminds me I should measure how much water it holds next time I fill it!!

This is Kitter, we also are not cat people. But he jumped in my car as a kitten and made me his hooman.

He acted more like a dog when he was younger but since moving to the homestead several years ago he’s embraced his element.

Apparently using the Damus in app camera does not work too well. Oh well

Most majestic cat. Hims name kitter. #grownostr #kitterpics

Phoenixes are my favorite free ranging chicken by far
