GM. Beautiful day in the neighborhood here on Hatteras Island

Awesome!!! I just started my seeds Sunday and I already have arugula popping. I started with herbs (things that can start inside or in hydroponics). I will be starting hot peppers and other vegetables soon. So far, great sign!!! Got high hopes for 2025 as being a great year!!!

yep. needless to say, I will never go back there. Either I fill do it myself or go to a local mechanic (not the dealer).

My guess is when they were putting on the top, the guys must have pushed down on the visors and caused the retention clips inside the housing to break. The issue is that they didnt even tell me. They tried to hide the fact that they were broken by pushing them back up in the housing. Luckily, I am anal about things and went through everything before leaving the dealer. But, they told me that they didnt know if they were broken before or after (right, they were NOT broken). BTW, not the only thing they did wrong. The wiper on the back window of the new top didnt work, they left zip ties un-trimmed on wiring harnesses, they didnt re-attach my antenna, and more.

So, I replaced my soft top with a hard top. when I picked up my jeep, the sun visors were broken and the dealer said they couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced. These visors cost around $400 for the pair since there is power in them for lighted mirrors and garage door opener. After a quick internet search and a $10 purchase on Amazon, I bought retention clips and repaired both visors in less than 20 minutes on my own. Good service is a thing of the past.

you can see the first pic where the visor is just dangling. The metal retention clips were easily added and fixed the problem even better than it was before the guys putting on my roof mangled things.

0.16" of rain from yesterday (last 24 hours). 0.40" was measured yesterday morning for the previous 24 hours, making it a total of 0.56" in this "event". I am calling an event a period of rain where there isn't a day of non-rain in between rain showers.

0.40" of rain in the last 24 hours.

Always great when a neighbor drops off some fresh produce. We used bok choy and potatoes for a grilled bok choy, Carolina shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes. I would like to say that it was for a Super Bowl meal, but I barely know that there is a "big game" on. I am sure I will be snoozing on the couch well before it comes on 🤣

Thanks again Frank for the produce.

for us locals, this is the best time. Everything has calmed down and it is great to drive out on the beach without a crowd. You can always tune into the radiostation at www.radiohatteras.org to stream. Mostly classic rock. But the main purpose for the radio station is for emergency times (i.e. hurricanes and Nor'easters). I volunteer as an engineer to keep things running.

Starting my first seeds of the year. Trying new seedling pots. Instead if the 6 pack pots, using individual. They are cheap and easy to manage since you can move individual plants around for different germination rates. You can then create an index with a number for plant type and seed origination so you Gan keep track.

Cleaned up the networking at Radio Hatteras . looks much better and not on a wimpy wire shelf above my head. Much easier to maintain. Remember you can tune in on FM 99.9 and 101.5. Or stream from www.radiohatteras.org

Lots of SW wind. Very warm. Water Temp off of our dock and the one in the sound in Hatteras Village are only 1/2 a degree difference. Our sensor is the blue line. The one on the Buoy in Hatteras (sound side) is green. Red is air-temp here in Frisco at about 30' off the ground at our place.

What a weird cloud formation. Cloud looks fitting for the Year of the Snake.

This is pretty exciting for people who have the BTech UV-PRO ham radio. This is a project (not mine) done in dotnet to control the radio and do APRS. They are looking to extend it even further. Very exciting for those of us who do a lot of dotnet programming. This really opens up a lot of capabilities and allows us to create custom apps for creating APRS integration, BBS, and more.

the #spacex launch last night was pretty spectacular. I have some pics from my SLR that I will have to check out later. This is something I took with my phone.
