Library is great too. They already got are money!
Perfect presentation also! Quiche, one of my favorites, especially with chanterelles. Everything you make looks fantastic!
Read all those books as a teenager.
I saw the picks the corn looked good. You just let them go too long. I like to feel the ears to see if they are filled out. If so I just shuck and eat in the field. When they start tasting the way i like I harvest them all. That’s what I don’t like about sweet corn unless you have a big family. It’s such a short window for good eating.
The same until the end. Sweet you have to time when it’s at the perfect tender sweet stage. Dry corn you just forget about until everything is dying back. The only issue is if you get late summer rains or fall rain, that can ruin the crop.
The variety I like the best is called yellow cabbage collard. I can plant in the spring it gets huge leaves they stay tender and are sweet for a brassica even in the summer, don’t bolt and last through my winters. Chard doesn’t die in our winters but gets rots with all the rain.
Chard use to be my go to cooking green, still like them, but collards the last few years have replaced them.
I’m already feeling better. Just body weight exercises this week. Nothing crazy. Wife has yelled at me multiple times. I got the message. I’m the type who can’t sit still.
First time growing this variety. So far really happy with it.
Black flour corn still needs more drying time, but pollination was good. This year I am going to bring it inside and dry under a fan. Last year my corn molded in storage.
