Alright Ranch Family, Katzing and I finally got back to business in the barn office this morning! 🐾

I know, I know… it’s Artus again. 🐶😅 But when you’ve got a pup who melts into your arm like this, what else can you do? 🐾 This boy had me from the first moment on — and he’s turning into something truly special - smart, brave, sweet, and full of that working-dog instinct, with one of the biggest hearts I ever experienced in a dog! ❤️ A real once-in-a-lifetime partner, and I fall a bit more in love with him every single day. When he graduates from GID Border Collies, he’ll be ready for a real job on a sheep farm or cattle ranch — and someone out there is going to be blessed beyond measure. 😇🙏

FB has been asking me for months: “Do you want to change the name of your top fan badge?” You know how every strong community ends up with a name… like Swifties and so many others. I kept trying ideas in my head, but nothing felt right. Roblers??? Georgies??? Oh, come on, I’d never hear the end of it on the ranch 🤣

Then something funny happened: without even noticing at first, I started to use the same name over and over in my captions whenever I talked about all of you. I called you what you truly are to me: my Ranch Family. So when FB asked again last Monday, I finally knew the answer. I filled out the form, hit send, and it went to “pending.” Yesterday evening it switched to “approved.” So here we are… Welcome to the Ranch Family – officially now. 💪

You know how grateful I am, without you, my active community, Facebook would have never offered me this possibility! And you know how this cowboy expresses his gratitude, right? Time for a lil music!

So I gave my on-the-wall hanging girl that look this evening — the quiet breath before the first chord, the weight of an old friend in my hands, the kind of peace only music gives a rancher’s heart.

After a stretch of busy days out there with all the ranch chores, today was the first time I could sit down, tilt my hat, and slip back into the songs calling my name. Some of them might just become the next videos you’ll see on here.

Winter might make the field recordings tricky… guitars strings, stiff fingers, electric equipment ain’t best friends with ice & snow ❄️ — you know the drill. But if the weather pushes me indoors, I’ll bring a whole new music series your way. And one thing is as sure as a horse finding its way back to the barn — I’ll be right here, singing and playing for y’all again the coming week!

Tonight’s Ranch Office meeting was supervised by the one and only Katzing, my lil one-eyed barn queen 👸 herself — and let me tell you, she took it very seriously. I was just trying to check the weekly list, and she acted like the head of HR… leaning in, inspecting every name, and demanding payment in treats. Life with a barn cat boss keeps me humble, I promise you. 😄

But while she was making sure everything was in order, I was reminded of something important:

Another week riding together, and I just want to say a big heartfelt thank you to all of you. Every like, every comment, every smile you leave under a post — that’s what keeps this place alive. You make this ranch feel like home, also to the new people that come in, and I appreciate each one of you for showing up strong with so much heart. ❤️

Before we get to the weekly tradition of shouting out last weeks Top Engagers, I have BIG NEWS 📣 for you: Some of you saw your Top Fan Badge turn into a Ranch Family Badge this week. Facebook had been nudging me for months to rename the badge, and when I finally typed in “Ranch Family,” it just felt right. Seeing it go through last night felt like the community stepping into its real name.

But on the other hand it breaks my heart 💔 for those of you who lost their badge for no reason! We have so many people, also on the list, that lost their badge though being still top engagers! I told them to fix this and make the top fan system way more accurate (or give me, as the creator, the possibility to pick people and give them a badge, since we’re already able to take badges away, why not being able to give them out? I still see the family member badge over your names, so don’t worry, I know who you are and I appreciate each of you! But I can understand if it bothers you, if you count yourself to these folks, here’s my two cents:

If you lost your top fan badge for no reason, reach out to the facebook support and report the problem! Tell them you’re on the weekly topengagers list of a page and lost your top fan badge! Make a noise! Be a community, just don’t give them a break, don’t stop reporting! The system glitches a lot, I think it is a glitch - so stand together and drown them in your problem reports! Just shake your phone while your on my page to report that problem!)

“The Crane Who Carried the Dawn”

Long before people shaped words into stories,

the world was younger—

wrapped in a gray silence

where even the sun rose without song.

In that age lived Sa’teya,

the First Crane,

whose feathers were colored like the shifting seasons

ashes of winter on her breast,

fire of autumn along her wings,

and the faint red glow of morning on her crown.

She wandered alone through the marshlands,

a place where the sky touched the water

so gently

that the two almost forgot they were different.

But the world then was unbalanced.

Night lingered too long.

Dawn came late and weak,

as if uncertain it still belonged to the earth.

The elders of the spirit realm sought someone

who could carry light back into the world

not by force,

but by presence.

So they called Sa’teya.

At the edge of the marsh,

where mist curled around her legs

like a hesitant child,

the spirits placed a single ember

beneath her wings

the last spark of the fading dawn.

It did not burn her.

It pulsed.

Like a heartbeat.

They told her:

“Dawn is not lost.

But it has forgotten the path.

Guide it.”

And so Sa’teya flew.

Her wings cut across the dim horizon,

scattering shadows as she moved.

Where feathers brushed the air,

light gathered

first thin as a whisper,

then warm as memory.

She flew until the ember grew bright again,

until the sun, remembering itself,

rose behind her in a blaze

that painted the marshlands gold.

From that day forward,

cranes were said to carry something sacred within their wings

not fire,

not power,

but the ability to lead light through darkness

without losing themselves.

And whenever a crane bowed its head,

preening its feathers

with slow, deliberate grace,

the old ones would say:

“She is tending the ember.

Without her, dawn would forget us again.”
