As long as everyone stops their boats during the eclipse it should be okay. Can't imagine why you'd be zooming around when the day turns suddenly to night and all.
I'm stoked for the 2024 eclipse; that'll be so cool.
I heard the movie critiqued Mattel. Smart social commentary but a risky move for the brand.
Admittedly, I never saw it. I'd be happy to watch it at home, but it's definitely not the highest on my list.
That said, I did hear several people, men and women, saying they quite enjoyed it. And, like you said, that many people missed the point.
Where I live is just barely outside the path of full annularity. I'm excited!
Yeah exactly. I imagine they could turn their current servers into relays and migrate existing Gab content onto the Nostr protocol.
Gab's relays could prioritize their own content, but still temporarily store content from other Nostr servers to help the protocol as a whole. And Gab users would have their content spread across multiple Nostr relays, so the whole Gab ecosystem is distributed and censorship-resistant without completely sacrificing the Gab community and identity.
Wow Wikipedia, biased much?
I think the first big social media to support truly open Nostr integration (so not ZBD) will win big. There's a wide-open opportunity to become Nostr's default gateway for new users.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it! I haven't totally wrapped my head around it yet.
Legitimate experts who discourage this kind of exploration on the part of the layperson are dangerous. Siloing and gatekeeping of information by an expert class opens the door wide to tyranny.
Maybe I'll name one of my kids Aloysius.
Not after the saint though. After the teddy-bear from Brideshead Revisited.
I know I'm very late to this discourse, but it was on my mind today
I cringe a little whenever I see grown men wearing Barbie merch, or a few weeks ago when dudes were dressing up in pink to go see the movie with their girlfriends or whatnot. Men, the Barbie movie is just Not For You. Go watch Oppenheimer instead.
I always hear the term to mean something along the lines of "the Western tradition". When people say America was founded on the Judeo-Christian tradition, they really mean it came out of the tradition of thought stemming from the Old Testament, carried forward in the new, fleshed out in Christendom, and ultimately culminating in the Enlightenment.
That account, of course, ignores the influence of ancient Greek thought passed to Europe via Medieval Islamic scholars as well as through the Romans and their successors.
Honestly I think we're better off just saying "The Western Tradition". Jewish thought is certainly included in that.
Hmm it looks to me like just fancy on-chain caching. As far as I can tell, it doesn't solve the halting problem, because it requires someone to run the script with given inputs off-chain, and give the outputs.
So, by all appearances, it'll work for any script that *does* halt, but it'll probably get nonsensical for any non-halting script+inputs.
That's just from my cursory skim of the paper, so I'm open to correction if I'm missing anything here.
What is BitVM? Where can I go to learn more?
Regarding the #Republican primary, I've seen people on here claiming that Vivek Ramaswamy is a CIA plant.
What if that whole idea was just started as a ruse to weed out someone who would be a real threat to the current system?
Think about it 🧐
I'm young still, so give me time and we'll see lol
