If I wanted to start self-hosting and move away from the cloud, what’s the best mini server I could buy? Something less janky and more reliable than a Raspberry Pi, and reasonably priced. To store documents, photos, passwords, Nostr relay, etc.

Caveat: I live in a rented apartment where the building provides the internet service and router/modem (no chance for a wired internet connection), and I own no display monitors or television. So ideally something I could connect via Wi-Fi and headless. #asknostr

You really shouldn't be hosting web sites from RPis. It's for playing with electronics and automation and prototyping, not for self-hosting. You shouldn't even be self-hosting internet facing websites in 2024. You can use github/gitlab pages for static sites.

Depends on the use case, but I use #umbrel running on a Raspberry Pi 4 to host #nextcloud (personal cloud for files), #immich (like google photos) and #jellyfin (for films and series). And I am quite happy with the relation between easiness to set up and performance.

Umbrel is great for bitcoin related activity... But I wouldn't make a "home server" out of it!

GN. Beside Lume as main project, I have thought about what project I will work on this year, as side project.

I've a lot of ideas, but finally I choose I will build a successor of Silk Road and Open Bazaar. Because the first time I hear about Bitcoin is when I looking for buying some illegal stuff in those platform, but I just a teenager so I cannot buy any bitcoin 🥲, I also starting interested in coding at this time.

Sadly both of them are discontinued, so I will make it happen again.
