I like NOSTR a lot. Especially the early bits. My favorite part about NOSTR is how it can be bridged with practically anything. My second favorite parts are all low-level networking and encryption JavaScript libraries it spawned. It made a lot of people (including myself) consider a "back-to-basics" approach towards the internet.
USENET (NNTP) was the ultimate social networking protocol. No owners, no monetization, no bullshit. All it needs is a trustless, distributed moderation layer on top and it would be perfect.
