Signal security theater

If this is your first install why would you trust a fingerprint sitting just next to the apk?

Meanwhile Signal PGP keys are nowhere to be found

App stores are permissioned and broken

F-Droid too

These are third-party builds for Tor Browser on arm64

ZERO downloads of the asc file in a group that highly values privacy and security.

PGP-verifying is too hard to use and needs replacement

I agree, I should be seeing a bunch of relays from my contacts' NIP-65s . I probably conflated things here, but in any case my own outbox relay set is better than the 2 random relays Amethyst suggested and that can't be changed without signing a kind 3 (which I'm obviously not confident to sign)

Thanks!

I would love to -at least- be able to configure relays without having to sign a kind 3

I don't see how else to make the app usable

Yes they will definitely try that (let's see how much they succeed this time around). However the OP was talking about a pandemic treaty, so it would have to be a pandemic to apply

I'm also incredibly grateful to Opensats and everyone who has donated.

Here at #SovEng in Madeira working on freedom tech for a better future.

BULLISH AF

when do you think they will launch the next pandemic? If another one happens in the next few years it would be absolutely unrealistic given that they've been happening every 100 years or so

Given how many people woke up during covid, do you think this is not going to cause massive rejection among people and some politicians? when applied

Red flag: "Sharedrop does not work with VPNs, please deactivate any VPN a device might be using"

Something better exists and its called the Magic Wormhole protocol

Flying Carpet looks interesting too https://github.com/spieglt/flyingcarpet

nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg any chance you gonna support Amber on Android? I don't want to keep copy/pasting my nsec around

Trying Amethyst, first thing I see is a crippled view of my network

It gives me 2 default relays I never heard of, totally ignoring my relay metadata. nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z is it just me or nip 65 is not supported?

Then when I try to add a few of my known relays I'm asked to sign a kind 3 (which I refuse to do as there's a chance it will lose my contacts)
