Hey nostr:npub1pzej3dt6ql5xzzxh4lg9eg2yttr25zsft4s4fje0gdrmm64mmwvswqshxc after some weeks of reviewing options I am seriously considering to switch to Start9.

Start9 architecture is built with privacy and security in mind, this is the first reason. After digging information out on the roadmap, team and focus, i believe this is the right step forward.

The second main reason that has convinced me is my own experience with Umbrel after some time: I came to the conclusion that is still a half-cooked OS, less secure and it forces the user to switch between command line and GUI.

My two cents.

I am seriosly digging out information in Cubes OS for the last week and I am very impressed with it. Has anyone tried it?

I think it perfectly matches my digital lifestyle. Everything under its own "cube". I love the idea. 🤠

- I am considering to have one computer running Start9 OS for my BTC/LND node and as local server.

- In a Raspberry PI I would like to run another extra node with Raspibolt for testing and learning purposes.

- In a separate computer, I would be running CubesOS from which I would manage my Start9 OS and the Raspibolt.

Does anyone see any potential issues? I don't know anyone running two nodes under the same network. Is this feasible?

I am using it on a daily basis and it is neat indeed. UX team has some clever ideas vs. any other browser out there.

Do you have suggestions? I am happy to listen to them. My next step is very likely Graphene OS. Any other interesting things to look into?

Kevin Mitnick has surprisingly passed away at the age of 59. I was living in California back then when he was defending himself of Tsutomu Shimomoura (Head of Supercomputers department of University of San Diego) who was colaborating with FBI to catch him.

I strongly suggest to read both books written by Mitnick and Shimomoura on both sides of the story.

Not sure if it is related but my Umbrel relay stopped working and no synchro is happening. Has anybody heard anything?

It is never too late, specially if you were born in the 80's. Imagine being born now the chances to become a full coiner...

Are you GenX? Millenials and GenZ have far less chances and opportunities compared to X. Still, due to the fact that BTC is timeless and spaceless (it allows to transfer value across time and space) I believe that every generation should buy on a regular basis BTC.

Every generetion has its challenges and difficulties. BTC allows to plan against these.

My Umbrel relay (connected through Tailscale) has surprisingly stopped working. Has anybody else lost the connection? It is no longer synchronising with my relay.
