Iris rejects events from authors that your social network has not interacted with (actions such as follow, like, reply etc. that refer to the npub in question). You get way less spam.

The username was reserved for a limited time so that you can decide whether you want to have it or not so there's no rush to get it immediately.
If you have confirmed it (and it seems you have) then it yours.
What's your setup and has it just started (and if so when)?
You can use Alby or other extensions on browsers for key management:

Just paste the npub instead of nsec. There's also "View as...." mode:

pv π€ What's your favourite username?
If you fancy a short link to your Nostr profile, iris .to /username links are now available π«
They are also handy for searching nostr users if you know the user's Nostr address (username@iris.to).
Visit the FAQ and video for details: https://github.com/irislib/faq#iris-username and go get yours (iris .to on Settings menu) β¨
Did we mention they are free but you cannot change it so what's your fav username π
#nip05 #nostraddress #username #nip5 #irisaddress #irislink
pv π€ You can register your iris. to / username (e.g. iris.to/iris) that's a short and easy way to link to your nostr profile. See the detais below.

Not sure either yet. Maybe it's the large amount of accounts followed π€·ββοΈ
Everything is experimental and cyberpunk here π€

Nah. It's something else. You can check the following list history and see that it's not pumping. If it bothers we can unfollow.
This seemed to work so maybe give a try ?

Thanks - we're looking into it.
Could you try again and maybe refresth the browser / quit the app?
Could be a cache issue since we did some changes earlier today.
You can use the username as a short link to your profile outside of Nostr: iris.to/mattoso
NIP05 is just extra feature of the username. You can use it or use some other NIP05 if you have many.
