Huh, what I’ve just realised that is super weird is that I don’t have any single male friends my age!

I know lots of single women, both with and without kids, I know tonnes of married people with and without kids and I know single men who are 10+ years younger than I.

But I can’t think of any single man in their 40’s. I don’t know of any men dating. Did everyone transition? Are these guys just invisible to me? Maybe I’m just totally ignorant of peoples relationship status?

Where do you find these people? Feel like I should know!

The military history of the land that is Israel is crazy reading.

Over the course of history, it has been conquered and ruled by 13 different military powers.

It has changed hands 19 times due to violent military conquests, once by violent revolution and once by legal declaration.

Imagine having 3.8 million square miles of land at your disposal, including 1 million square miles of lumber forest AND also having a housing crisis.

At some point responsibility falls on the population for i). Voting for and ii). Tolerating that kind of thing.

Have some self respect.

Probably waiting for the sun to declare its pronouns so it can decide if “having sex with the sun” is hate speech.

This is important because apparently the whole world is California.

AI will strip every society of their beliefs because beliefs are mostly a fictional code that permits a trust fabric.

California is just ground zero.

Watching all these deep ‘specialists in their domain’ confidently predict the future of humanity, in public, is just really sad for their future reputations.

I’m gonna call it “the barbell of stupidity” with p(doom) on the left and “sex with the sun” on the right.

Everyone is maximum wrong and it’s so weird.

Crazy how GPT made so many people simultaneously think intelligence is linear and that anything 30 IQ points smarter than Magnus Carlson will be able to have sex with the sun.

More than two steps past their own experience and people have no grip whatsoever on reality.

If my Dad had asked me that, I would be telling my therapist instead of posting it on nostr. 😂

“Can she cook?” Is level 9000 parental advice.

Most people learn to think within their native language and I would bet a lot of the words you hear in your younger years map to linking the neuron networks in your brain as you develop and build understanding of the world.

I was reading this morning about how 3 year olds who have had below average verbal engagement, have measurably underdeveloped brains by age 5.

Then you think to screen time and how much we distract little kids into obedience and it gets quite concerning quite quickly.

Seems kinda risky to start shooting a movie next year, as I’m pretty sure AI will be generating very good multi modal content on demand, within a year or two.

The content collapse of everything other than live sport is gonna be the big story of 2025.

Netflix, Disney, Paramount, HBO these guys are all dead. Only a handful of profitable quarters left.

Once we have multi modal content creating AI on device, the platforms are dead too and with them your old social graph.

Content is going to zero, it will be infinitesimalised by AI, but preservation of your connections will become everything.

This is why nostr is so important. 🔮

Do people widely understand that words mean different things within different domains of study?

For example…

In philosophical context anti- means the opposition to an idea’s validity, eg anti-nuclear. But in physical science it means the inverse of something and not that the thing is wrong. eg anti-neutrons.

These word meaning differences in the English language are many, and often very subtle but can lead to enormous fake disagreement in the wild.

People are often in agreement but interpreting one another’s words differently and wnd up fighting disputes that simply don’t exist.

A useful thing to remember, especially at home.

Anti-solipsism FTW, Descartes was wrong.

The average human currently consumes one septillionth of the Sun’s output.

Some of Earth’s eight billion people think this is too much.

Whereas I think we are living in chapter one.
