How'd you get a 10g switch for less than the price of a car? I got a used HP v1910-48g for something like $40 a while ago.

I went with 500 Megabit because it was $30/mo cheaper than gigabit and still faster than the cable I was replacing.

Not much point in paying for gigabit if we never came close to saturating 300Mbps. Also, gbps is the limit of my lan. My access point is even less. I am not ready to upgrade my entire infra no matter how much fun that would be.

How old were you when you found out that "fiatjaf" is an op standing for "Force Isolate Anarchists To Just Another Forum."

Agree. I don't like renting anything either. I do pay for shared hosting for some stupid stuff I put up. But now that I have a half decent internet connection I'd prefer to host from home. I'd be nice to experiment with more than just PHP. I am just trying to figure out what I need for a proxy. Can you limit the bandwidth on yours so even if attacked it won't use more than half your bandwidth?

This is what I tell people of all human achievement. If the effort you put in isn't difficult to the point of pain then neither will other people pay you to avoid having to experience that pain themselves.

Thus, whatever your field, if markets are working correctly, the difficulty will scale to the pain tolerance of the most persistent competitor.

Do hard things!

This is a thing I have been meaning to ask you about. Where you host your proxy. I wonder if it is worth it for people who want to self host, to pool on a collocated server that just runs proxy services. Would it be cheaper than a VPS?

Can we stop using the word "tactical" to sell random crap to men?

"These tactical doilies can be used as bait-fish nets in a apocalypse."

My wife claims he left behind a trail of broken hearts at the doctor's office yesterday.

I've got to teach him not to promise in smiles that which he cannot pay in snuggles.

You can come watch ours. My wife and I would tentatively like to plan a date sometime in our 40's.

True true. I want to build colonies in space. But I'm not taking the current version of the internet and payments with me. Too inefficient and encumbered.

Or raising kids. As someone who excels at hard manly thing, but does hard womanly things badly for a living instead, I have different perspective. I don't do it because I insist, I do it because that is what my family needs me to do. My sisters all make it look easy. But they don't have 3/4 of their brain designing novel communication protocols and cathedrals on Mars 100% of the time.

Selfish. Not because they want or have hard manly occupations but because in your scenario they "insist". I would say the same for men that insist on having hard manly occupations.

Out in the real world you do what is needed for people who need it, because they need it. It is of course wise to choose to do hard things at which you are adept because, likely, that will be where you are most needed.

So, bit of a normie here with respect to Bitcoin. What were the answers. I do run Bitcoin core from time to time but I don't actually own much and am curious what current best practices are.

Also Breaking. I have no idea who Matt Odell is. The all caps guy is about it.
