If it’s going to attract more developers and ultimately end users to the space it’s a net positive. People need to be aware of the technology before they can make informed decisions about it.
Thanks! My global feed is all Asian posts for some reason so I haven’t figure out how to leverage it.
On Nostr can anyone else see posts outside of direct followers and keyword searches?

Real-talk: Damus content is Crypto and finance heavy. Many Bitcoin enthusiasts.
Mass adoption requires diverse content and opinions with broad appeal. Play nice with others and welcome opposing views. Those views are a sign-post that the new normal is quickly approaching.
I’m of the opinion that wallet abstraction is the key to achieve this. Managing a set of keys and seed phrases feels like when people had to custody physical certificates of their securities and cut out coupons for their bonds.
Too much friction and too much risk.
I’ve been using Damus less than 24 hours and already had to do this. This is a good reason to include a feature to prioritize quality content over quantity.
A quick summary of my on-boarding to Damus:
After a few attempts of fumbling through the Damus app finding only a few blank pages I managed to find people through keyword search. Next I followed some of their follows and closed out of the app. Once I started things up again my feed, for the first time, provided meaningful posts.
A few prompts to suggest who to follow right off the bat would greatly improve this experience. The other issue I’m still working through is the global search . It’s dominated by users writing in another language and spam links.
Nope not at all. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a basic feed in my language set up. A feature for recommending who to follow or asking you for basic interests would be a great start
#introductions brand new to Nostr! Trying to figure out how to find people to follow.
I want to see first hand the difference of new versus traditional social media apps.
