Yes!! That would be amazing! I came across your YouTube videos the other day and in a few hours I was able to make a first working draft of a client which I’m extending now. I most definitely owe you a drink

As a light take, I think I would prefer to have the capability integrated in the client so that I can use it also on data that do not come from a Nostr note. I think clients can be more flexible with what they show in the interface and they could be quite different from how they are now (twitter-like). I have some cool or crazy ideas on this.

Listening different Nostr podcasts/discussions I understood that it would be nice to have many micro apps/clients each with its unique features. And features could be quite different so it might be more practical to have them in the client rather than the protocol. If building a client gets easy enough it wouldn’t surprise me if someone from Naples would make a new client just to have Maradona’s background on it.

But my background is in aerospace engineering and I’m studying Nostr and web development stuff in my free time since February so I’m not an expert. Please correct me if I’m wrong 🙏

I’m working on a client that has the “BYOAI” (OpenAI and HuggingFace api for now) already implemented in an elegant and novel interface. I find it incredibly useful and I think it’s a great combo that opens many doors!

Would you be open to have a chat and possibly collaborate on this?

Can #Nostr clients adopt a somewhat similar “business model”, e.g. hold a small percentage of the zaps sent from a client, maybe with a cap of 5000 sats/year (~1$/year). Or are there technical obstacles to this?

🤞 user adoption will increase enough to make it sustainable for a client to earn enough to sustain a few developers and their families.

How do Nostr dev live? Do most dev have other jobs?

I am working on a client in my free time and I’m considering applying to #[5] but I do not like too much the idea of relying on others generous donations.

Any input/suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I tried to #zap this note from Damus but for some reasons my Wallet of Satoshi shows “FAILED”. This is the first time that I have this issue. What could be causing this? Will this payment go through at some point or should I make a new one? Thanks

#[2] #[7]

nostr- (latin) = nostro (ita) = our (en)

I also originally thought that #Nostr came from the Latin! “nostr- (latin) = nostro (ita) = our (en)” is indeed perfect 💜

#[0] I have 2 features I think would be interesting:

1) option to display posting frequency in the user profile (1 post/day vs 1post/h). This might help me understand if a creator is “spamming” for attention and visibility or is publishing the content I am looking for.

2) follow for a week/month + renew. For example I do not know yet if I really want to follow #[1] it will depend on the content she will publish next. If the content is good I will renew, otherwise I will think she just made a good post once and now I can focus on others

To me this creates a further incentive to publish open source codes and come up with hyper-collaborative rather than hyper-competitive ideas and business models

You are correct, the big famous ones you mentioned do not seem to appear in the original dataset from the FDIC (https://www.fdic.gov/bank/historical/bank/) that was used for the plot.

Do you have any guess on why that might be?

Credit Suisse 4Q22:

Asset = 531 billions

Equity = 45 billions

Revenue = 15 billions

SVB Annual report 2022:

Asset = 211 billions

Equity = 16 billions

Revenue = 7.4 billions

Here there is also an interesting plot of bank failures since 2001 that I found on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/11ukpfj/bank_failures_20012023_inflation_adjusted/

I found this interesting thread from @level39 which attempts to highlight some limitations of Nostr but I do not have yet the knowledge to understand the full extent of it
