Gotta keep that shit north of 2 minimum.

The more I interact here the more cool & interesting people I find. It takes effort though, and that’s a good thing IMO

Correct. You can buy fractionalized shares of gold allegedly stored safely in a foreign country and pay someone you’ve never met to manage it through an online broker who’s terms of service you never actually read. Oh and you’ll need to KYC for this. Power to the people.
Every Bitcoin book is a children’s book if they know how to read
They’re not even remotely interested in what the populace wants. Bernie? Fuck off. RFK jr? Don’t kid yourself. “We know what’s best”. Bitcoin? Not in our house. Disgusting. This party really needs a re-brand because every stunt they pull is far from “democratic”.
Let’s hope so. It would be an epic way to burn $44B or whatever it was
This is 100% going to happen to a lot of projects on Nostr too. Which is why we should at least be considering FOSS licenses like MPL in lieu of MIT where possible…
Thx for the reminder…

Although I share your ideals- how would this work more specifically? Some tokenization that settles periodically in a federated system like Liquid? Stocks are shares of companies that exist in legal frameworks formed and enforced by state powers. Ownership rights of these shares are also enforced by the state. Who enforces the global ownership rights of shareholders even if we use bitcoin for transaction settlement? Who do I sue when a company doesn’t honor my shareholder rights… and under what court? How is bankruptcy handled and by who? There’s a lot to solve for here if you want to make something better than what has evolved to this point. — This is a comment on: https://yakihonne.com/flash-news/nevent1qqs0cmpnlpxc9xjqsse24tztvpvgnusmlxww32ejzfmphvqtt5ug7mqzyzmejmqc8cpkmuncq229hq9mmj9shavhrdnzr2rt7dtfcvepzlc86qcyqqqqqqgygyw2k
100%. nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q has a good feature here showing sent/received on profile pages (maybe others do as well?). Basically a generosity ratio. — This is a comment on: https://yakihonne.com/flash-news/nevent1qqsvjz94uchu6xrmwfgfj2a470w3ywsr99qjwvl24ccwu6u4djz5w5qzyqzvj9w6alhrsvtl5u6ygjkwuwg2sf5lukqskgjpuhnd6dpal0kvjqcyqqqqqqgvfhey2
Great idea. Highly interested in these discussions happening here. #nostronly

🤣
I agree the efforts are largely impotent, especially outside of the US like you said. The only condition I’m interested in is putting up a roadblock for parties that want to take something open source and make closed source iterations. The MPL seems to fit this pretty well- basically similar to MIT except attempts to force future iterations to be open-source. No offense, but MIT is literally using the state to actively give up your rights. I don’t see how that furthers the cypherpunk cause vs. something like the MPL.
In the spirit of alt content: here’s a wholesome photo of a golden duck we’ve watched grow from a baby. We’re so stoked goldie made it through the duckling ordeals and grew up.

I say this right after posting dev content as my first post in a couple of days
