Never thought of that for further exploiting the fruit and leaves! It wouldn't affect the crop, at least no more than pressing the olives for oil, or drying the leaves for tea.

Chickens lay eggs and we eat them.

Most days my chickens get their eggshells back from me, to consume for the calcium.

Occasionally a chicken will take to eating an egg,. Usually it starts with an egg that gets broken accidentally. If a rogue bird gets a taste for it you start to notice a decimated egg in the clutch of eggs in a nest box. if you don't get on top of it all sorts of nonsense can play out.

Chickens get yolk on their beak, another chicken starts pecking at it. That can end in a bloodbath.

Not to mention who wants to lose eggs?

Growing up I was told by the old timers, an egg eater must be culled. Don't go that route.

Get a fresh egg, bore a small hole in the shell and drain it empty.

Fill it up with chilli, anything super hot. Leave it in the crime scene. Repeat the next day.

I can promise the rogue chicken will not try eat more than two of them.Cured, Alive and laying like a champ.

Good afternoon. As I grappled with the perfect colour scheme for a new website, what a tremendously useful convertor this proved to be https://www.rgbtohex.net/ in tandem with a digital colour meter. That plus https://nostr.build/ and Ghost, it has been a very productive day. And a day closer to putting this bloody computer back where it belongs.

I must say I find it quite amusing when I read posts about walking, like it's a new discovery. It's what we do, right? :) I get it, lifestyle is up the creak these days.

Anyway, not too long before I go for a walk and drop off some neighbourly eggs.

I think there is work going on with 1 nsec per post. https://anonostr.com/ offer it. Quite a rapid timeline to follow! And I think I read somewhere that the idea is that an anon user would be able to collate their multiple nsec posts in one "spot" but nobody else would be able to do that.

On an individual level, what protects activists from being doxxed if a relay can see the IP address of users? New nsec for every post. A VPN and an onion relay as standard for using Nostr truly anon?

Can't get enough beetroot! I hated it as a kid, til I realised it doesn't grow in vinegar. That looks delicious.

I remember going back to UK late noughties after a 10 year break and being shocked at the BBC news coverage. It had changed, I don't hold a masters in communication but their coverage sounded like propaganda, not news. Sad really, because it's only got worse despite the few bastions of fearless reporting.

have you tried habla.news? Thats for posting long form stuff. The thing is though, what you post there is published to Nostr, so it appears in your social media feed. My takeaway is that unless Habla News can attract readers, or they have a smart collation tool so visitors can easily find all your posts, ie unless I am missing some obvious advantage, (and I stand to be corrected) you might as well post long form articles to your social media client which is the space where they seem to be developing every conceivable improvement to search, collation and discoverability.

Sods Law. I normally don't have much joy with growing onions because I'm stingy with water. They stay scallion size! This year I watered a bit more and lo and behold I have about 200 onions like this in various stages of growth around the place. No surprises there, they say.

But would you believe it, I seem to have developed some sort of intolerance for what has been a staple of my diet for decades. Giving them away now.

Meanwhile back in the Spring I wanted to focus on peppers instead of tomatoes, they are much more nutritious. But despite going overboard planting dozens of different sorts of seeds, this year, what normally grows like a weed has faded away or finally started to kick off towards the end of the hot season.
