Chickens free ranging in olive groves lay great eggs, fertilise the soil, restore biodiversity and keep the cash flow. going when olives are on alternate fruiting

Woollen socks. Silk thermals. Turn down the heating.

Better off getting some pallets. Not only do they look better, they are also cheaper and probably last longer than the cardboard-whatever-that-shit-is.

Wouldn't want to wet that bed, it would disintegrate overnight.

I'm sure if they swapped cardboard for thin plywood that bed base would be indestructible.

My bed is 8 concrete blocks for a base with oversize pallets topped off with a panel of 2"/50mm celotex. On the base I have a thin eiderdown. Voila, it has the same feel as a physio bench and can probably take the weight of an elephant!

The lengths you have to go to when your back is wrecked :)

https://youtube.com/shorts/pAqt1oA5zfU?si=2Bmgvm_3_o9ecnAL inflation is not what they sold us back in the day or today. But bitcoiners know this.

You need to take our Made in USA products or I'll impose tarrifs. You can have bitcoin if you stop with the privacy stuff. Big stick coming. The price of doing business with govt will be writ large.

Lost track of the days. Cool.

You'd be surprised by so called normies, at least where I live. So many people are skeptical about the mainstream, and historically there is a distrust in the provinces of Madrid govt and an undercurrent of independence seekers.

Spain is quite big on bitcoin but not in the sticks. There are lots of alternative types doing their thing falling off the radar, even tried to introduce a local currency years ago. The missing link is lack of awareness of the "right tech".

To avoid tracking on social media locals trading between themselves are mostly stuck on WhatsApp private groups, and don't spend their lives studying bitcoin, so Nostr and zapping is not on their radar. But if and when they turn up on nostr, you should get some cool content and amazing variety of food and from resourceful people

, as it stands, though, Nostr has no appeal to 99% of normies pitching up for the revolution. It doesn't help that landing cold on a Nostr social app it is endless scrolling through zealous bitcoin bullshit. So I need to tell people, sign up anon and immediately search hashtags for your interests - and pray it is true that bitcoiners do have interests outside of fricking ngu and hating on monero :)

I see same problem with Yanihonne. The drop down with wallet options is limited. I started on Amethyst and maybe I'm mistaken but I'm sure I just added my blink address (a wallet chosen at random). Easy onboard. KISS especially on an open network.

If you like fight action, this is an interesting long form chat between #Scott Adkins and #Amy Johnstone about the nuts and bolts of stunt work and filming fight scenes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-1Pxafty0E

They start off a little bit star struck but soon loosen up and go deep into their trade. They explain the difference between working with MMA fighters v actors, and to their credit, give pretty harsh critiques on various fight scenes they have been in, including the outtakes of a big fight they had in Accident Man.

Guys, keep your hands off Amy! :) She is a real deal martial artist.

If you live in #Spain, especially those living off grid or in remote areas, I can't recommend #masmovil highly enough.

50GB of data at €10/month IVA incluida and rock solid 4G, using the phone as a wifi hotspot, VPN on... Getting set up online with a work computer is now a non-issue. Only have to deal with one company that seems to be really on the ball, no infrastructure.

I expect I sound like "Welcome to the 21st century" but it was no fun when we were dependent on local wifi providers with a monopoly and a couldn't care less attitude. And mainstream phone companies are still taking the piss with prices and tariffs, and not able to provide a reliable service out in the sticks. It's not unusual for friends to have their phone one end of the house and answer it having run outside to get coverage. And that's the lucky ones.

I don't know if it still applies but when I first came to Spain there was a mandate that internet companies had to connect everyone who wanted it. From fibre optic running through a village of 80 people, to worst case satellite at 2000m up in a valley.

I guess the next stage is a mesh setup, in case everything is captured?

Haven't seen LSB but TArantino's quite open about the Japanese influence on his movies. What do they say about artists - great ones copy? Similar named but different story is Lady Blood Fight. Pretty good for a fight movie all the better for starring Amy Johnstone! Happy New Year.

Meteo-weather report shows have sponsors. Maybe corporate control is going to the next level with engineered fog sponsored by Prozac.

My initial reaction to another foggy morning is to get the animals fed and huddle by a stove but that gets old quickly. Time to work indoors with music on. Bit of guitar, cups of spicy tea and regular food stops. Bring on the fog.

I've seen some hashtags but #foggate ?

We need to get out more, folks.

One theory is the govt social engineering people out the cities to less densely populated areas.

Well, that is a big policy about turn right there, because the govt prefers everyone in one place, easier to " look after". For a real life example, Franco drove the rural population into the towns, and there they still stay. Rural depopulation is massive and is a global trend. The more in cities, the merrier.

Maybe govts saw sense in encouraging humanity to once again live in harmony with nature and are trying to fog us out for a few days so that billions of urbanites with suffocating mortgages upsticks into the countryside to build neat little homesteads with a bridging loan.

If so, I would run for the hills because the govt has lost its tiny mind. What a physically and financially ridiculous notion.

But hey, those who want to relocate to the countryside and live the dream off grid , be prepared, because the fog that's been a regular natural phenomenon for aeons ain't great for power generation for modern conveniences :)

This poster puts tongue firmly back in cheek and gets on with a chilly survival mode day.
