very ergonomic.

I raise you a past colleague’s workstation:

people complain about everyone just talking about #nostr on nostr.

do you know what’s more annoying than everyone talking about nostr on nostr?

everyone talking about bluesky on nostr.

oh that’s an interesting idea. I pull the current price of bitcoin on load but don’t allow you to edit it.

anyways, I think the answer to your question is:

1 btc = 100,000,000 sats

1,000 sats = 0.00001

if 1,000 is $10 then you can just move the decimal 5 places: $10.0 => $1000000.0 or $1,000,000 btc

hope that’s right, it’s early and I’m not a math guy lol

tor’s “safest” mode disables javascript by default, which this website requires to run. so if you want to use the site you’ll have to enable javascript.

there is no tracking/ads/fingerprinting/etc bullshit on my site. you can view the source: https://github.com/bndw/satscalc.com

can’t we just surface the nsec as an immutable “password” to users and move on?

end users don’t need to know the technical details (unless they want to)

it’s generally advised to apply security patches as they become available.

agreed. but also HN tends to be an echo chamber of anti bitcoin rhetoric. words like “decentralization” immediately provoke a negative reaction. ironic how a tech forum for hackers has such a hard time grasping money over IP.
