Podcasts these days seem to be getting longer and longer.

I cannot even finish listening to one episode most times.

The ones I do finish take me 3-4 days to get through.

Many times people assume that because something can be done that it is being done.

This is wrong.

The world is waiting for you to go do it.

So if you find yourself thinking “wow why hasn’t anyone done this yet?” Then guess what?

It’s because you’re supposed to be the one doing it.

Pension bailouts are coming.

Many are from public employee unions which are pseudo government entities anyway and reliably vote for the expansion of the state and state power. Their pensions are in trouble and guess what? They're gonna get bailouts.

It'll be sold as something compassionate. They'll trot out some old people telling sad stories. And they'll get it because these old people want their money.

This will massively inflate the currency and it'll cause prices to soar. Because unlike normal monetary expansion, this money will get spent right away. Which of course means that they're going to have to raise the salaries of those in government again.

On and on and on until we have hyperinflation.

I don't know when this will happen but the game theory is inevitable.

Nostr education means Bitcoin education, but don't force feed them. Let them have fun with Bitcoin and see it's magic. Then, once they're ready, talk to them about self custody and onboard them to self-custody solutions. Explain the importance of this action. Give them different options, guides, and offer to help. Do all of this in the public so that others can follow along, learn, and offer their help too. But most of all, so that we don't teach these new folks bad habits. Scammers will eventually reach out to them in DMs. Teach them the benefits of discussing this in public.

Onboarding new nostr users to custodial lightning wallets is shortsighted and user hostile.

We need tools that automate best practices and maintain the sovereign fundamentals that make nostr incredibly powerful.

It will take a little bit longer for these tools to develop but we must make it a priority.

This conversation has been going on since zapping began.

It’s very much a “we aren’t there yet” and “doing the best with what we have” situation.

Eventually the standard should be non-custodial but for now it’s the simplest (1 minute setup) non-KYC implementation that works.

Newcomers are already facing a “boomer experience” when they first come to Nostr.

Eventually it should all become streamlined to normalize best practices.
