FWIW: Coincidentally, yesterday I fired up my Occulus Go (Facebook VR) for the first time in a long while. It literally wouldn't turn on and to do so required: I re-download the Occulus App on my mobile phone AND ALLOW ALL PERMISSIONS of data harvesting. I tried to deny something as simple as my location and it rejected my ability to use the headset.
Wait, what?
I *HAD* to agree to continue to use the headset. I couldn't believe I was being strong armed into this?! 🚩
Then Threads blows up later in the day. 🤯🧐😡
I know it's *easier* to just be complicit to this - and I'm a product of it too - I don't always use Tor cuz it's slower, and I like the convenience of Google Drive etc... but handing over all of our data to these companies - not people - companies, is a net negative for humanity.
They are diametrically opposed to people being free, autonomous and private citizens.

Educating willing students, friends, people, plebs and strangers to these ideals (and consequences) is the most important thing any of us may do in our lifetime.
