This time of year is great for getting certain things done around the farm since the soil is nice and loose. We have a ton of dead fir tree saplings in the upper property that the sheep have killed over the years. The still wet soil is nice and loose now so I can easily tip the dead over and pile them. It has done wonders to cleanup the various stands and to bring the branch level up over 4 feet off the ground which is perfect for fire danger.
At the rate things are going weather-wise I could be tilling the main garden within a week or two which is weeks earlier than normal. Thank you el nino?

It was a serious downpour of rain yesterday morning as I went to town for grain. On my way home it tried hard to snow and did so closer to dawn which made me very happy to be home as the wrecks then happened around the region.
The furnace exhaust fan arrived and I got it installed to then have to troubleshoot the main blower which decided to stay on. Seems it was the high limit switch needed cleaning.
No rain today so I can try to accomplish something outside finally.

I've made it another rotation around the sun. After watching Man Utd amazingly win their match we all headed to the north side of town to Frank's Diner for my bday meal out. It was a long wait but the food is worth it and the elk burger was DELICIOUS!
The super bowel lived up to it's name as all in all it was rather shitty. A whole 3 commercials actually stick out in my head and they weren't even all that good. The NFL jumped the shark many years ago and has been floundering since.
I grilled t-bone steaks for dinner which came out delectable from the open fire. Almost forgot to hook the trailer up for my grain run I have done this morning already but remembered as I was going to soak.
Busy day today and it is snowing and raining right now, the weather is so neurotic this year.

Llamas are known to be good guard animals. They are also a tasty meat, their poo can be put straight to plants and won't burn them, and their fiber is super warm like alpaca.
I've never dropped before just paragliding and I haven't had to deploy my reserve. This winter has not been very conducive to much flying but now that spring is here I am going to be out as often as I can. We have a number of places around the inland NW to fly but the better ones are to the south of Spokane in the Palouse. This pic is nearing the LZ at Steptoe Butte.

The spring conditions are here and the farm is starting to get green grass showing, which is a month earlier than normal years. I had hoped to go paragliding yesterday but my neck and the winds wouldn't allow, so the day ended up a movie day. We started with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure then put on Big Trouble In Little China to continue the 80s movies.
I grilled again for dinner and made Hawaiian burgers that tasted scrumptious. Beefallo burgers with ham and pineapple atop... yum.

We love eggrolls in this house too. Not terribly difficult to make either. We watched a couple movies today for the boys, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure then Big Trouble in Little China. They enjoyed Big Trouble a bit more. We've been on an 80s movies trail recently trying to expose them to classics.
Now I want a Flipper and I don't even really need it. Hitler's nephew is destroying Canada.

The remnants of Winter are lined up in the Pacific and have been streaming rains at us. A cell that came through in the afternoon yesterday dumped a healthy amount of styrosnow but it all melted really fast. At this point there is just a couple dots of snow left on the farm and the soil is almost dried enough to start tilling, many weeks earlier than normal.
I'm hoping to go paragliding today as I haven't flown in months and really want to get back in the air. The winds look good I just am hoping some other club members want to go with since it is more fun to fly with others.
