Likely the last of our cold nights are here. Yesterday morning it was 23F but the greenhouse was still at 40F and then mid day it got to 74F once the sun hit it. The bitcoin heater is doing its job wonderfully and this morning it is still above freezing while the temps are about 12F. Mid day I watered the 3 rows which only needed a single water can.
The fungus and mosses on the trees amaze me how they can so easily handle the sub freezing temps, and look just as good frozen or not.
Who knew Sumo was still a going sport? I happened upon it while waiting for the Spokane Chiefs hockey game to come on. J and I watched the last 15 minutes and it really is a silly sport, but at least the morbidly obese have a sport just for them.

That is one benefit of having so many apps working with Nostr so there can be baby level up to expert level. It would be interesting to have the options to make the various apps open up more functionality or lock it down dependant on the user "ability" or knowledge.
That seems to be a problem in everything, the appeasing the lowest common denominator instead of standing firm and making them learn and improve to use the product. Lazy society.
Moose are big gangly things with legs way too long for the suasage bodies they have. Their eye sight is super poor but they are good swimmers and can mob through a dense forest with little trouble. Ours here close to the city are small to mid sized but head north 30 miles and they start to get a lot bigger. I 've been out running a couple miles from the farm and run right past moose standing less than 10 feet from me and they hardly react.
That's how long it took our food co-op to become profitable.
She charged at me and I ducked behind a tree then ran and jumped in a skid steer with forks on it and went back in. She charged at the forks and came to fast stop right at the tips. Drove it after her and chased her out of the fence with the baby close behind. I've been close to a bunch of single moose otherwise that were mellow, but that instinct kicked in on her.
You're moose looks nice and content, here is a pissed off moose about to charge. She was not happy with me.
Over 17 weeks they all will likely have bad days to deal with. They also have midweek matches they have to play to keep their tour cards which I'm sure plays into their Thursday performances.
I do but it's just for me. Washington has oodles of pot shops so the market is nil. I probably could if I tried but why when I have enough to last me all year.
Hopefully the Lukes can unseat him from the throne this season. Someone needs to rein in his dominance.

Another day another storm rolled through but this time it dropped a healthy amount of snow on the city. It was above freezing during the day but that didn't stop the snow which mostly fell to the south of us, the city got 3 inches while on the farm we got at most 3/4 inch. The joys of nature's neurosis.
PDC🎯 was on mid day from Glasgow and MVG won the night again which doesn't bode well for the other 7 players. Then the Kraken🏒 whopped Boston in a surprise game that saw them win 4-1. The boys went to the school skating night at the rink for the evening and had a blast after spending all afternoon skating around the house "practicing".

I built mine in 2 days by myself but it is 12x40 so a bit more manageable than a 20ft wide. If you sell the produce you grow you can pay off everything really fast. This first year of my greenhouse produced 250 lbs tomatoes, 71 lbs peppers, 1675 cucumbers, and a couple pounds of tobacco. Most of my cucumbers sold through our co-op for $1/ea which nearly paid for the greenhouse materials. I just put the S9 in but by the halving it will have just made enough to pay for itself.

The hardest part is building the greenhouse. My one S9 is doing a bangup job of keeping mine above 40F while it is 20F outside.

Yesterday morning everything was thick in frost from the fog that had frozen to it. It was 22F at dawn and the greenhouse never got below 40F with the single bitcoin heater running. After getting the boys to school I went to my chiro appointment which helped my neck but aggravated my TMJ. The rest of my day was spent trying to kill the pain that was shooting through my head. It took sleeping overnight to finally get some relief.
The boys made gingersnap cookies which we haven't made in years. They are to die for and so incredibly delicious. I am the type of person who LOVES ginger and our recipe calls for every kind possible, so they get filled. Candied, powdered, and juiced went to these though we had no fresh to add they still came out nice and gingery.
